N-400 May 2017 Filers

Husband had his interview today here in downtown Los Angeles. Maybe I missed it, but I didn’t realize they wouldn’t let me go in with him during the interview. I thought we went in together. Anyways, it took about 15 minutes. He can’t remember the civic questions he asked, but he only asked 6 questions since he got them all right. He asked some general questions about us living in Texas and moving to California.  Very basic stuff and that was it. So I guess we will get the interview letter in the mail. Hopefully we will get oath ceremony for January. Fingers crossed!

Congrats to you @vosnmars! You will have the Oath letter soon. The next Oath ceremony is on 18th Jan. You can make it. Congrats to your husband again!!!!

Hi all,

Just as a data point, on 1/6/2018 I received an email and text that I am schedule for an interview and that I should be receiving a letter. I'm still waiting for the letter, which from what I can gather, I should be receiving in the next week or so. My closest field office is Newark, NJ, but I have yet to know where the interview will be held. Hope this helps.

Finally, I find out why would my oath ceremony delay is due to the passport photos and address changed. I have no idea why would that happen to my case?

When I fill out the N400, the instruction does not require the applicant to attach the passport photos. "Photographs. Only applicants who reside overseas must provide two identical color photographs of yourself taken recently. The photos must have a white to off-white background , be printed on thin paper with a glossy finish, and be unmounted and unretouched. Passport-style photos must be 2” x 2”. The photos must be in color with full face, frontal view on a white to off-white background. Head height should measure 1” to 1 3/8” from top of hair to bottom of chin , and eye height is between 1 1/8” to 1 3/8” from bottom of photo . Your head must be bare, unless contrary to your religious beliefs. Using a pencil or felt pen, lightly print your name and A-Number (if any) on the back of the photo. "

 

when I do the fingerprint, I already took the pictures as well, when I was in the interview, I also bring my passport pictures, however, the officer didnt take it.the second thing is the address changed, the officers keep ignoring my requested address change from 8/2017, they keep using the old address for mailing address. I am not offended, but the officers seem no idea what they were doing?  I use the e-requested for explanation and face to face talk to the IO during the interview, I MOVE ALREADY,  it seems the officers whatever.

 

This is the reason why I got the delay in my oath ceremony

 

I hope the officers can be more professional and take care every cases.

Just received the text message that the " Interview Was Scheduled". I believed that my interview would be in mid Feb. 

I installed an app called USCIS APP. It will send me notification about similar case. It gives me some confidence about my case.

Hope every body will get to the next step soon.

Yay!  Great news for you!  And I just got the text that the oath ceremony letter is being mailed so I really hope we get it soon and it will be January 18th.  Its very exciting.

Finally my status was updated yesterday from INLINE FOR INTERVIEW -  to -  INTERVIEW WAS SCHEDULED Jan.9,2018.  I was IN LINE since June 12,2017.  I kept on hoping i will have an interview December or January.  Its a mixed feelings. Excited but sad.  Excited to go for the interview and sad I might not be able to go home and be with my moms birthday.  Funny, Im hoping my interview will be before Feb.8. Or. After Feb.22.  Those are my travel dates.  I will know when will be my interview date once I get hold of the interview letter anytime this week and I will decide from there.  Either to go on with my interview or Re schedule it at a latter date.  My mom is turning 82y.o. And not really in perfect health. Its her wish that I can be home on her birthday.   Its a tough decision to be dealing with but I hope i will get it right.

 

Im looking forward to be interviewed  in Atlanta Field Office.

No update for me. There is an April filer from Chicago still waiting so it's not looking good for me for a while.

I am still waiting for my interview to be scheduled in Orlando, Fl. I have been in line since 27th July 2017.
