hi

yes, you are overreacting

as said, the 5 year rule is based on you being a GC holder for 5 years. the officer can ask you questions about your marriage

but there is no need to prove bona fide marriage like when you file under the 3 year rule

Folks I already filed N400, Case Status : interview in line.

the question is about - should i ask my x-spouse for a affidavit letter or not. its 5 years. we divorced and i re-married. i really dont want to talk to her unless i need. the lawyer is saying even 5 years they might ask you evidence. the lawyer want to charge $4000 study on my case and writing affidavit. should consider this offer. or it might risk my citizenship? if i go interview without a letter from my x-wife. although other evidence is ready.

Thank you

Hi. i just want you to know the i applied under 5 year rule, and yes they will still going to ask you about your past relationship with your ex wife, they just want to know if you enter in a bonafide relationship. in my situation the IO ask me if we have a documents the our both name is in the documents for example health insurance that you and her name is there, life insurance, bank account, credit cards, mortgage, light bills, water bills, house insurance, car insurance, everything that you and her name is in the documents BRING IT!, if you have child together bring their birth certificate, also bring everything that is written in the appointment notice like the marriage contract (if you still married, divorce decree if you are divorce) if you can provide everything that is written in the appointment letter the better, but DO NOT FORGET the documents that your name and her name is in there. i know it is hard to provide this stuff because you and your ex is divorce already. but try to talk to your Ex maybe she will have it... and it is not going to hurt you if you are going to ask her a letter stating that you and her entered in a good relationship. sometimes we just cannot prevent things happen. by the way here is my timeline

Applied N400: August 2016

Biometric: September 2016

Interview: May 2017

Check my Status online: My Oath Ceremony will be Scheduled and they will send me the notice in the mail

i wish you a Good luck

My case status still : Interview Inline.

by next week i will collect few affidavit from my friends and relatives. 95% of people are saying here they not go wana ask about past but i have a feeling they will ask. plus all the lawyer i consults with they all told its going to be a big issue if they suspect anything else.
