This is the first time going to interview with uscis officer, i did not received a conditional GC, i got 10 years GC directly thought a marriage which last 6 years. my question is:

Do I need a affidavit letter from x-spouse that i did not get married to gain GC only, She actually loved me and the evidence i have on hand is valid like letters wrote, address we lived together. etc.

again folks - this is 5 years, my fair is bona fide of my marriage could be challenged.

Thank you.

hi

you are divorced, you only need copy of your divorce decree, your citizenship is based on you being a GC holder for 5 years

your ex has nothing to do here

Hi

Dito to what "aleful" just said, just fill in the N-400 & send copy's of any evidence needed for filling under the 5 year rule.

Best of luck not that you need it.

Folks I already filed N400, Case Status : interview in line.

the question is about - should i ask my x-spouse for a affidavit letter or not. its 5 years. we divorced and i re-married. i really dont want to talk to her unless i need. the lawyer is saying even 5 years they might ask you evidence. the lawyer want to charge $4000 study on my case and writing affidavit. should consider this offer. or it might risk my citizenship? if i go interview without a letter from my x-wife. although other evidence is ready.

Thank you

No you don't need a letter from your ex, as you are in line for an interview appointment then everything is ok, if they had needed a letter then they would have asked for one by now.

The lawyer is trying to take advantage of you, save your money.

Considering y'all were married for 6 years, I think that is evidence enough for a bonafide marriage. You do not need a lawyer to do anything at all about this, and your lawyer(if you hire one) won't help either. So just save the $4k for something else.

If you're naturalizing based on the 5 year rule, I believe your marital status has nothing to do with it, would be a different story if it was the 3 year rule. You should be fine — also drop the lawyer, $4K is a joke.

As others have noted.  You are a Permanent Resident.   That is the basis for your application for citizenship.
Take it easy...... Do NOT spend $4000 on a lawyer

Let me also jump on this, do not pay 4000 for the lawyer. That's too much money just for them to show up at your interview, they didn't even file your N400?! That's a scare tactic and to be frank totally dishonest, you could have an interview that lasts 15-30 minutes and then you are approved and the lawyer would have made $4000.  Now if you have concerns as others said bring the divorce decree, if you and your ex filed taxes jointly, bring that as evidence. There are many cases of persons here on VJ that got their citizenship after being divorced. I personally know someone who got his citizenship after getting divorced.

If someone solely married for GC and there is a evidence or finding with uscis then even after 5 years they can denied N400 based on bad moral as i read everywhere. this is truth that nobdy can tell this except your "x-wife" so affidavit from her is the best piece of evidence. this is a real marriage everyone knows it and there are plenty of evidence marriage took place, and you guys lived together etc. but GC was not the main concern.

Looks like i lost contact her, i posted in her fb and email but no reply. not sure i will get affidavit from her or not before the interview. if my case denied, she is the only one can save me - please advice!

am panicking too much?
