I just filed my I-129F at VSC on Monday!! yay for us!

However, I will likely be changing jobs soon (I've been going to interviews for over a month now) and I'm just wondering if this is going to mess anything up...or how much it WILL mess it up? I will be getting paid more whereever I go, but my phone number will change, my job title, etc etc.

I'm at a job where if my boss quits, I'd better quit or I'll get fired because I can't fill his shoes, and he's planning to quit in the near future....like...by the end of the month.

Divorced. To hell with him.

Changing jobs is fine, so long as you will be making enough money. The I-864 isn't for the I-129F or K1 part of the process- that's for AOS as far as I can tell.

If you're filing through VSC, you'll have to worry about the financial documents sooner than if you're filing through another SC. But either way, so long as you have an income that meets the requirement, you should be fine.

Yes I would think switching jobs would be fine. I'm sending out resumes right now. The Affidavit of support can be in the form of bank statements and/or letter from bank officer. Just make sure you have the new job before U quit the old one. :bonk:

cool, thanks! I don't intend on quitting without anything lined up and I will have co-sponsors if I need them anyway, so this is good. I guess I was just more worried about when my fiance goes for his interview and they ask him what I do for a living, what if I do something else by then and all the consulate has is something outdated? Guess I'm worrying for nothing :)

Your fiance probably will be asked about your employment--mine was questioned in detail about my job. Just be sure your fiance is able to explain that you changed jobs since the application was sent--and knows what you do at your new job.

Also, you will probably need a letter from your employer for the interview. The letter will state your current job title and salary, which will correspond with the information your fiance tells them.
