Traveling after AOS interview

Hey folks,

Just had a short question here. OUr AOS interview is Feb9th. If all goes well I'd like to take a flight that evening overseas. Can I travel with my stmp or do I need to wait for the physical green card?

If you get the I-551 stamp in your passport then you can leave the country that day.... you dont have to wait for the actual card.... but without the stamp in your passport you will have to wait.....

As Kezzie says, you do need the stamp in your passport. When we had our AOS interview in Denver, they said that they had stopped stamping the passports...so I really think that booking a flight might be a bit risky in my opinion...what if you are not approved at the interview, then you would lose the flight...just a thought.

If you are approved on the spot and get the stamp in your passport, you may travel outside the US and expect to be able to return.

If you are not approved on the spot or if you do not get the stamp in your passport, you may use AP to travel if you have not overstayed and are "re-admittable".

If you have been approved and DON'T get the stamp you CAN NOT USE YOUR AP..... they will or should take it from you after you have been approved...

IF YOU TRY TO USE YOUR AP (IF THEY DONT TAKE IT FROM YOU) YOU MAY BE DENIED......
