Hi I'm in shock right now, when we spoke to the NVC the other day they said because of the delay with the DS260 and because they told us it was complete and it turns out it needed completing again the said we could always request that the case is expedited, I never expected them to approve it but thought what's the harm in asking (as advised) we just got an email saying its approved!!!! So now what happens? Do I now wait to hear from London? How long does that take? We just booked my medical appointment for the 17th May shall I see if I can get it sooner? The Affidavit of support do I take that along with us to the interview? (The NVC has already been paid for the affidavit of support, we sent all the evidence which they have said is fine but my husband and mother in law filled in expired affidavit of support forms so the NVC said we just needed to download new forms and submit them again)

I'm really hoping that this means I will be able to fly over on the 10th July with my husband and kids and I don't have to enter on the vwp and then fly back here for my interview.

I have put the exact wording below that was in the email.

The U.S. Embassy/Consulate General has accepted this case for expeditious processing. This file will be immediately forwarded to the U.S. Embassy/Consulate General. Any further questions regarding processing or the interview appointment date should be directed to the U.S. Embassy/Consulate General.

Thanks

Kelly

congratulations!!
Keep an eye on your status on the CEAC website. When it says "in transit" its on its way from NVC, and when it says "ready" the embassy has received it.  You can get in touch with the embassy, but most are good at getting in touch... mine did so pretty quick. No harm in calling them though.

Have you looked at the London embassy specific pdf about their process?  In my case I wasn't allowed to get my medical done til they gave me paperwork, but not all are the same.

And yes everything that you didnt give to NVC yet, take it to the interview. They will give you a list of what to take to the interview, plus they "should" check your file they get from NVC and tell you what else is missing.

May I ask what your expedite was for?  You must be pretty excited :-)

Here's the link to the instructions for your embassy. So you can at least check what documents they "usually" ask for.

Thank you, We are so excited we are hoping that with the time frame I should be able to leave with them on july 10th (do you k ow what the wait time is for interviews when a case has been accepted to be expedited?)

We were in the process of applying for my visa a few years back but due to a family death we had to halt it (my aunt died she was only 40 and left behind 3 sons that needed supporting) anyway we decided in November to start again and was told that we could pay a £300 fee and carry on from where we left off (we didn't realise we had to contact them once a year) we queried if we had to fill in the ds260 again and was told "No" we asked twice and was assured because we filled it in before we didn't need to do it again. Anyway we sent the affidavit of support in to the svc in February and 2 weeks ago called to get a status update and was told that the ds260 needed to be completed!! It was locked on the system and was told it could take 6 weeks just to unlock it and then another 10-11 WEEKS for it to be processed. We had booked flights from the 10th July but we knew that they advise not to do this so there was a chance I would not be with my husband and 2 kids. Anyway when my husband called the nvc the person on the phone said that we could always try asking to expedite the case to get it moved quicker because we were told incorrect info, we never thought in bazillion years it would be approved but on Friday received the Email to say we had been approved.

It's not hard to get expedited. Just keep in mind the NVC makes sure you have everything you need and everything filled out correctly.

This now falls in your lap. The embassy will tell you what you need but its on your lap to make sure its filled out correctly, the right form and you have enough to convince.

It's not hard to get expedited.

I beg to differ. Unless you have very good and compelling reasons, getting edited can be difficult.

Think about it, if it was not hard to get expedited EVERYONE would do it. From every approval we have seen on here, there are 5 that are not.

Thanks, I was shocked because before the NVC recommended that we put a request in for expedition we knew nothing about it, but once we put the request in and I started looking online the general feeling was that its only given for life/death situations. (I'm exaggerating a bit but we were under the impression we had no chance) of course we are so thankful and hopefully it works out that we can get things done and I can leave with my family on the 10th July.

So do we know how long until we find out when our interview will be? We got the email Friday afternoon. Is there a telephone number we can call and ask question's?

Thankfully we have sent all of the evidence and they have said its all fine we had to resubmit the ds260 and we also had to put the affidavit of support info on a new form became my husband used an out dated form!  What do you mean by "enough to convince"? Do you mean in terms of having the right documents at the time of the interview?

Thanks

Wish i had a definitely answer but it depends on embassy when you get your interview date.

Sorry if i was kind of vague, the kind of convince i meant was when you interview if the interviewer has any doubts you typically need to shoot those doubts anyway.

Bring originals to the interview everything you possibly can.(Marriage/AOS/Birth certificate) Bring at -least- copies or -preferably- originals of everything you sent to the NVC or were required to send to the NVC. Of course bring his tax stuff as well.

Bring any extra evidence you may of gotten since you sent the evidence in the start.

Ah no problems, I will just have to keep my fingers crossed.

I have got everything here ready to take and I think it should be straight forward we have been married for 16 years and have 2 kids together (they were born in the states, we lived there previously but I was an idiot and never sorted my citizenship sorted.)

I'll update here so that in the future it may help someone else.

Thanks
