Hello VJ people!

So here's my question and/or concern..last week on the 28th of April we got our case number for the NVC. I checked since the first day and of course it says the first thing that we could expect which is "at NVC". I heard that normally once you get your case number it just takes a couple of days to leave but mine has been there at that point longer than a week..should I get concerned? I got already my DS-160 as it is free and I was expecting my case to leave this week already but clearly I did NOT apply for interview or medical as I am gonna wait clearly until I get my package 3.

So..how long normally it stays in the NVC? and what can be delaying the case to be sent?

Thank you!

You are checking your status using your NVC# at the CEAC website link below correct?
https://ceac.state.gov/ceacstattracker/status.aspx

According to the VJ Madrid Consulate information page, "There is about 1 week from when the consulate received the packet from NVC to when the forms are received by the beneficiary."
http://www.visajourney.com/consulates/index.php?ctry=Spain&cty=Madrid

It also takes 3-5 business days for the Consulate to receive your case from the NVC.

Chances are, your case will at the Madrid Consulate sometime this week.  If not, I would contact the Madrid Consulate.

Yes, I have been using this page to track my status. The problem is that, if I'm not wrong, the moment it leaves the NVC then it changes to "in Transit" as that means it's on its way to the Embassy. Mine didn't change since I got my tracking number last 28th April (it's still on "at NVC" stage) that's why I was asking if it's normal that it takes so long to leave the NVC when neither my fiance or I have any backgrounds.
