I have a question.  I have searched online but can't seem to find a clear answer.  Does anyone know if CEAC updates in real time, or once a day?  I see people say at all times of the day that their status changed, but it could be that they just checked the site.  Possibly it updated overnight and they are just checking.  Any info is appreciated.  Just don't want to waste my day checking multiple times if it's only a waste of time.

It update at midnight.

Awwh! How about you mail it anyway and call the NVC in couple days and ask for a supervisor to review it right away? I don't know if it will work, but it's worth a shot.  Best of luck..

I agree- I hope it was a mistake on their end that you don't have to be delayed by-I would ask for a supervisor

No..delayed😓so so upset.  No where does it say they need her proof of citizenship.  And it also says if she is/has been on your tax documents..the proof is already stated.  ...but now they want proof.  So crazy really.  I just want to give up.  But I can't.  I will mail the passport copy tomorrow😔

I'm so sorry-it's very upsetting, but don't give up! You will make it through this and be done once and for all-just a little longer....

I've learned that it's better to send too much than not enough. At least then you will have a lower chance of getting asked to provide more documents. Sorry you are going through this, hopefully it will be fast!

@nessasmom980 so sorry you got a checklist! :( send it in and like someone else here said, try getting ahold of a supervisor to review it once they get it. It's worth a shot since other people have done it and it worked! Good luck!

Omg.. I got an RFE... they need proof my daughter (who is listed on my 864a form) is a us citizen... ummm.. she is on my taxes as my child.  Jeez... held up for a copy of her passport😡

It could be an invalid checklist.. If she is a household member whose income and/or assets IS NOT being used by a sponsor to qualify. I don't see why they would need this info..

It says on the i864a Instructions "If you select any other relative except for spouse, you must provide proof of the relationship and that you have the same principal residence as the sponsor."  By chance, did you send in her birth certificate?

Unfortunately not, it's delaying our case

Ok, sorry to hear about that.. If you can please share what was missing/incorrect on the following. It may help others from South Africa.. So sorry.

If you can, list the problem/solution. So sorry..

Meanwhile, there are still options..

One, submit the corrected document in ASAP.. once confirmed that they have receipt.. Wait about a week, call back to ask to have a supervisor to get in contact with you.. They may refuse, but it has worked for those that kept on calling back.. Supervisor then would review the new document and give you a CC ASAP versus waiting the 8-11 weeks again.

Other option: ask for your case to be expedited. This has also worked for others. It's up to your embassy to determine..

How to expedite at NVC?

Go to this link has good information how to go about it.

Just to remind everyone to revisit the NVC

No problem, updated the spreadsheet with the description of RFE, hope it helps

Would you recommend I send the entire form again or just those pages?

NO!!!! That's aWful.. This has happened to people in the past..  By chance did you write your Case number on every page of your AOS form? Some people just simply didn't include those pages because nothing was on them.. But they all received a checklist for it.. YES, you def have to resubmit the entire form. This is what happened to @Dinah.. she was checklisted for not checking 1 box on the AOS form... She sent in the correct page with that info.. but then received another checklist because she only sent in the correct page, and not the entire AOS form. It was a nightmare for her.. She's on our spreadsheet, her original SD was 9/22/2016!!! So don't let this happen to you.

So my advice.. Send in the corrected AOS form (all pages). Make sure to sign it. Also put your Case number on all pages (upper right-hand corner). Also, include the checklist cover sheet with your case number/bar code on it. Write NA/None in the non applicable areas.

Then after they have confirmed receipt of your new AOS form, (your second scan date), ask to get a hold of a supervisor.

See these posts from @cadtousa. As she was successfully got her CC without having to wait an additional 8-11 weeks..

I would send everything again, and, as others have suggested, put your case number on each and every page. We didn't do that but I've heard of other people getting pages lost (like you) so this may help. So sorry you're going through this, it's frustrating.

They said page 10,11,12 of the form for our co-sponsor were missing. I know for a fact we sent them because I wrote a note on page 12.

I'll call them tonight to confirm if that's all then get my husband to send it off this week. Here go another 10 weeks. I'm going to miss his birthday again :/

I must say, you guys made this whole process a little easier, thank you.

I'm so sorry

The rate these people lose things is alarming smh

I would follow the advice given on this forum and hope for the best! You're going to make it through and be done with this once and for all

Oh wow, that's terrible, I feel so bad complaining when she's been waiting for forever!! That's good to know! I'll read through those posts and write our info on all the pages.

Thank you, merci, you're incredible.

Sorry, just saw this post.. What was the note that you wrote? Maybe that's what got them confused.. If so, then those pages could most likely be still there!! Def ask to speak to a supervisor as they'll pull your case and review it in person.... I really don't want you to have to wait another 8-11 weeks..
