NVC - May 2017 Scan Dates - Method 4: Mail processing

No I did mail filing. And that email was just to change my embassy. I don't know why they added those to my documents as the attached docs in the email didn't have to be forwarded to anyone. Now because of their error I have a new scan date 😭😭😭

If you initatiated a request for change in embassy, then that is essentially changing information in your case which is cause for a new scan date.

 

if I didn't understand correctly and you did not request a change in the interview location, then the submission of a second set of documents was also a cause for reseting your scan date. 

 

You should never resend documents again and should only be providing information that they requested per an RfE or there is a more than likely chance that your scan date resets. More often than not, many individuals receive a checklist as well due to duplicate submissions.

 

if you want, you can call and speak to a supervisor to explain your situation. If you're lucky, they might help. You never know.

Omg now Ure scaring me, checklist😭

This request that I sent via email was in march even before sending in my packet it's just that they took a month to get to this email. 

I still believe it's like an error from their side for including those doc in on April from the email when the person viewing the email had already seen that the embassy was changed and I had a scan date already. They should have just disregarded that email. I don't know why that rep even did this😩

This whole process seem like a never ending process, now it's all going to be at least another month delay to be with my hubby😭😭😭😭

I hooe this finds you all moving along at a steady pace.

 

We got our NOA2 which says we were apprived on May 4th. Our case was at Nebraska. When should we start calling to see if we have arrived at NVC and gotten a case number?

When a person get a checklist it mean they will get another scanned date which will be the new one?

 

 

after they received the checklist how do do they have to wait?  30-60 days like USCIS?

As far as I have understood, a checklist resets your scan date (so another 9-11 weeks)

Yes, after receiving the documents from you, you will have a new scan date, waiting period still varies, it may be finished in a few days or may take up to 11 weeks. But there are checklist that you may bring on your interview  best wishes

Congrats! It usually takes 1-2 weeks for USCIS to send out your packet and up to a week after for delivery.  I would start calling every two days now to get a case / IIN #

Hello all.

 

The NVC confirmed our documents were scanned in their system on May 10th, I submitted the DS-260 on the same date.

 

However, when I check the status it says:

Action required: Submit requested documents

On 2017-05-10, the National Visa Center (NVC) received your Form DS-260 (Immigrant Visa Application).

 

It then says to submit documents to the NVC.

 

Does it usually take a while for NVC to update the status?

Checking in. I called the NVC and gave them my USCIS case number for our IR1 and they confirmed that they recieved it from the USCIS on the 8th of May, and may take up to 2 weeks for them to populate a NVC case number. So I assume that 8th of May is my first scan date? Me and my spouse currently reside in the U.A.E.

1.  After we get ours NVC number, would we need to log in online to submit additional documents? Or do they mail/email a list?

2.  What are the next steps and remaining estimated time frames from now till CC?

3.  After CC, does the case get sent to embassy for appointments? 

4. Anything we can prepare in the meantime to save time?

 

Any assistance would be great.
