Our interview is next week, and my husband really procrastinated on locating his birth certificate. I'm about to call and ask about it, but I thought I would get input from the users here. It would take a month for him to receive a replacement, so that's not going to work. I figure if we bring copies of it, and explain the situation the officer will just tell us to send in the new one when we get it.

What do you guys think?

Okay, i called and talked to a tier 2 officer and they said that a copy might be ok? But I don't know if she knew what she was talking about, there were certain other things she said that I felt like I had more knowledge on.

All he has is a driver's license, a SSN card, some bills, and 2 different copies of his birth certificate (not certified). Will this be enough? It's just that the checklist says "Birth certificate", it doesn't specify any further.

Does anyone else have any other thoughts? I tried to expedite shipping, no cigar. He was born a ways away from here so we can't really go there in person. I am so frustrated we didn't figure this out sooner, I just trusted him to have the original.
