I just wanted to make one last check and make sure I have everything for the K-1 visa petition. I've done everything on the checklist, and maybe even a little more. I have proof of intent to marry, I have pictures from our engagement, I have passport style photographs of both of us, I've filled out the petition, the biographic information, I have proof of when we were last together a few months ago, and other stuff like birth certificates and all that jazz. And I have copies of EVERYTHING. The only thing I haven't filled out yet is the affidavit of support because I was told by several people that we don't have to have it until the interview. So, is there anything I might be missing? Or maybe anything that commonly gets overlooked or common problems people have? And is 6 months the normal time it takes to process the visa? Sorry for all the questions but this is kind of my last check off before sending everything off and I want to make sure everything is perfect!

And thanks to everyone on this site y'all have helped a lot.

What evidence of meeting in the past 2 years did you provide?

How did you first meet? Did you provide evidence of this, and that it was not through an IMB?

The I-134 isn't needed now and the evidence would be outdated by the time it arrived at the embassy anyway.

You need to include a written/typed statement of how you two met which is question 34.a on the old I-129F version or Questions 53-54 on the new version. If you guys have boarding passes, or any proof of travel to see each other whether in your fiance's home country or vacation trips, I would add that as well just to show that the relationship is ongoing, but I think that would be more of preference than something that is mandatory. Make sure you have 2 separate letters of proof of intent to marry, one signed by you, one signed by your fiance. Make sure you have signed and dated the petition...I know that sounds like a stupid thing to tell someone but it is a common missed step from what I've read in other forums/topics.

Correct, you don't need to submit the Affidavit of Support with the Fiance Petition, that will be presented along with the other necessary information at the interview.

Good Luck to the both you on y'all journey!!! I will be mailing our petition packet on May 22nd after I come back from visiting my fiance!

Ok thank you both so much that helps a lot. All the evidence that we are presenting is the evidence suggested and described in the petition checklist and instructions. We put the written statement on how we met on question 34.a and I have copies of my visas and plane ticket from the last time I was in Honduras in January/February. And I have signed and dated the petition! I can see how it would get overlooked since it's kind of off by itself in the papers. We'll probably be getting this done as soon as my next pay check comes in.
