My mom has a police certificate from OCtober 2016 and her interview is in June. I have read somewhere that it is valid for one year. Can anyone help me confirm that? I am confused because I have seen 6 months from other posts and countries in this forum. and June would be 8 months.

It has always been one year, unless your p4 is requesting for it

So, it depends on who is requesting...

it is valid for up to 1 year at NVC but 6 months at the embassy. So same police report from Ghana is deemed valid for 1 year at NVC but not at the embassy..

That's why reaffirmed cases don't ask for new police report at NVC but the embassy will ask for a new one if it is over 6 months.

So in her case she needs a new one, at this will be at the embassy (Interview) stage.

Wait until you have the interview date..if the police report is over 6 months then she will need another one..

But if it is reaffirmed case, i wouldn't get a new police report unless requested by the embassy.
