you do not get to choose, it is based off of your zip code, DC residents go to the Fairfax Field Office.

I am not sure about this. Form I-130 asks about the field office we want to apply the AOS to and we selected Baltimore. Anybody with similar experience? I am temporarily living out of Maryland. My biometric was completed out of Maryland as well.

Im from DC. I filed my AOS on august 19, my 485 status never changed from "ready to be scheduled for interview" since Nov 16. Anyone with similar timeline? Any July, August, or September filer from DC have got their schedule yet? Posting here please... I'm so nervous, I have booked a trip abroad in late May :(

Are you referring to question 61a. and b. on Form I-130? I remember being confused about what to answer and ultimately wrote Chicago since thats where the application was sent, event though my husband and I live in Maryland.  I'm assuming it was a correct answer since I got a receipt for the application and it was accepted.

According to this article found on https://www.shautsova.com/law-publications/immigration-questions-answered.html#.Wp2sW-jwbIU

"Finally, we can also “pick on” form I 130, Part 4, Question 61: “If beneficiary is in the United States and will be filing for adjustment of status to that of lawful permanent resident in USCIS office in”... Well, the thing is that all filings for adjustment of status (or most of them) have to be made though a “Lockbox,” meaning that if you reside in NY, for example, your application will have to be mailed to Chicago. The question is confusing because one may not be sure how to answer it: Chicago, IL or New York, NY... I have seen practitioners answering both ways..."

So it seems either way: Chicago or the closest Field Office next to you are both correct answers.

But from my understanding I believe the choice of where you will have your interview is ultimately made by USCIS based on your address at the time your file is ready to be scheduled for an interview.

I guess we will know when you are scheduled for an interview because you filed before me, I am January 2018 filer.

Thanks, I selected Baltimore and my application was also accepted at the time. I just talked to USCIS customer service and it seems this is a correct statement that USCIS will choose the field office and the decision is made based on the applicant's zip code.

Hi guys! My bio appointment is next Tuesday. Has anyone tried early walk in at Pikesville asc?

My husband walked into Pikesville last summer for his biometrics.

We got two separate notices so he did the first Biometrics before he received the second, so he ended up walking in a second time as well.

The first time he went and walked in (right when it opened in the morning) They made him wait 2 hours and were not super happy he walked in. The second time he walked in a week later, he went mid-morning and he was in and out in 30 minutes with no issues.

Hi @Adam D

Did you ever receive any updates on your Greencard yet? We received the reviewing your case update last Thursday but was curious how quickly your case is going (since our packets are likely sitting on some desk near each other haha).

I am hoping you got some good news recently!

Thank you for replying. We will try to do an early walk in this Friday. Hope everything turns out well.

We still have no word on the Green card approval. Fingers crossed soon :)

Still no word for us either. Still "Interview is completed, case must be reviewed". Our interview was 1/25/18. I think it may be time for an Infopass, even though they told us not to contact them for 120 days!

Hey,

Sorry for the delay in replying. Still no update. I check on line every day about 3 times. It's been 6 weeks today...Oh and do let me know if you have any updates. At least then it will feel like something is shifting!

we had to go in there with infopass to ask about the case, the lady at the front window got the case and then she looked at the whole thing and 2 days later we were approved

When you went for your Infopass, had you been told to wait 120 days but ignored them? I'm happy to do the same thing, just didn't want to get told to go away and come back (which happened the last time I had an Infopass)

We will keep you up to date!

I was thinking of having a congressman check in on our case on our behalf. I feel like it can't hurt to have inquiries coming from all directions. :)

We played it smart and nicely. We said that we would like to get some paper on the current status of the case because we can’t renew the driver’s license. And they had to look at the case and then we just asked questions regarding the case and 2 days kater there is an approval.
