All depends on who you speak to and get at the MVA, some people are clueless to our situation

Its amazing how people who work in these officers don’t have a clue how the visa system work

The funny part of it all is he drove to himself to his road test while I was at work on his unexpired Australian license. So I asked him what happens if he fails the road test.... does he just get back in the car and drive himself back on his unexpired Australian license 😂.

He passed luckily.

Had my interview 1/23 @ 11:30 am.

On 1/26 at around 7pm, my online status for both the I-130 and I-485 says my case was approved on 1/24 (plus a text message and email).

About 11pm on 1/26, I got notice that my card had been mailed on 1/26.

Yesterday, 1/27, I received Welcome to USA letter in the mail.

Became a citizen 6/2024. Now filing for my mother.

Any September filers?

9/15/17...AOS package delivered

9/29/17...Biometrics notice received

10/13/17...Biometrics appointment completed

12/11/17...EAD card delivered (didn't apply for AP)

So far, I-485 status is still 'Fingerprint Fee Was Received'. I-765 status never changed, still 'Case Was Received' even though I received it. I-130 is still 'Case Was Received' as well. Hope we can get an interview date scheduled soon, fingers crossed.

One question, we didn't receive any RFEs till this point, does it mean our package is considered complete?...

In most cases probably yes; normally they issue RFEs at earlier stages of the AOS process, but you can't be sure it doesn't happen at later stages.

Good luck to everyone with interviews upcoming

My interview is this week, I’m confident but no expecting to be approved on the day.

After speaking to USCIS the system doesn’t make sense, the interviewer can’t really make a decision, they have to consult with a person above them who as never met you.

That manager goes off the advice of the interviewer, what a mad system

Just had our interview today with Interviewing Officer Chen.  She was extremely personable and professional.  Asked my wife about the names and birth dates of everyone, parents, myself, our son, and her step sons, about my previous marriage, our marriage date, point of entry, and entry date.  My asawa nailed all the answers.  During that time IO Chen made us feel very comfortable, which helped a lot because my asawa was stressing the day before.  The appointment was at 8 am, and we were out the door by 8:45 am.  We received a form stating they had everything they needed and we would hear from them within a week or two....... now more waiting, but at least the interview is done.

We just used a normal backpack.  Everything goes through a scanner as if you are going through security at an airport.  Belts, wallets, keys, everything out of your pockets, then you walk through the metal detector.  The only reason we even needed a backpack was due to it serving dual purpose as a diaper bag.  They did not even blink about it.  One couple came in with a small rolling suitcase, so I don't think they care as long as restricted items are not in the bags/packs.  We had everything in a binder with separate sections for each item from their checklist.  Most of it the IO never even asked for, though she did take all our additional evidence that we offered her.

Good luck tomorrow, I am sure it will go great.

Wow.... Went to Glen Burnie MVA today with the AOS NOA and had a copy of the approval letter for the EAD.   Lady at the service counter said, oh, they'll just go off the EAD letter even though we had planned on using the AOS to renew the license.  Had to wait a little over an hour and got called up 2 minutes after closing.  The processing lady, and i use the term lightly, behind the desk was so rude and her manager was even ruder.  Never cracked a smile.  Manager said he could just deny my husband now and not give him anything, even based on the AOS. ... and when I went to verify his residency, the manager told me to shut up it wasn't my license.  Wow, just wow.  I am soooo angry and disappointed in how we were treated.  They did extend his license 10 months and did not give us the option to expedite it for next day delivery.  She just skipped right past the screen.  So disappointed.
