Yeah, not sure. We definitely heard squeals of delight from another room when we were having our interview, so someone got some good news! It's the case not updating on line that's annoying too, as some people who posted that they were told they just had to wait checked their status on line "in the car" and it had already changed. Mine still hasn't updated to say I have an interview!

They had that white paper filled in before we even got in the room. So they had no intention to approve/deny us that day. My status is still stuck on "Evidence Received"

we had our interview on 11/28, then we got the same paper and it was video recorded. the guy was nice but did not say much regarding our approval. then on 12/20 I went there with my wife and we asked to see what was going on. the lady brought our case, looked at it and on 12/22 we were approved. I hope it helps.

Just had our interview this morning, in Baltimore.

Congratulations and good luck with the approval!

Which documents did you show to the IO as identification documents - your passport and MD driver's license? Is there any specific requirements or a list of acceptable documents?  I was wondering if a passport and EAD would suffice, without an MD DL or ID.

Thanks. They ask for "Government issued ID" I'll be honest I don't know if there is a legal definition of that, but when the IO asked for that I asked "do you mean my drivers' license?" and she said yes. But of course not everyone has one so there must be an alternative open to you to show. My husband showed his drivers license too, and when he produced his passport she said she didn't need to see it. They didn't ask to see his birth certificate either, despite it being listed on the interview letter that you had to bring it. The only thing she took from me was my confirmation email that I had notified USCIS of my change of address.

My husband got his drivers license after we got married on the K1 visa.... He just noticed that it's expired and has a restriction of "T" Temporary time limit.  What did we do wrong?  What do we need to do to get this converted?  VERY frustrated now.

Standard procedure, untill you get the 10 year green card you’ll be back at the MVA and only Temporary ones issued,

Once your EAD comes the license will be valid for a year, get your 2 year GC than the licnses will be valid for 2 years

My husband received a 10 month temporary drivers license BEFORE his EAD arrived in Maryland. The looked him up in SAFE system to make sure he had applied for his AOS and Maryland is one of the lucky states that gives you a license without an EAD. Not every DMV or employee knows that though so if his expired with the I-94 and you have a while until your EAD then I would def try and get a 10 month one.

He went to the Annapolis DMV. It was a really smooth process for him he actually said almost everyone there the day he was there was an immigrant.

So he can't drive again until his EAD comes?  This is crazy.

I was on a work visa so had a valid licnse cos of that and my EAD came before my work visa expired so I never had that issue

You could technically drive on a out of country legal license, but if he got pulled over and the cars not registered to his license I believe he would have a problem

he could drive on a rental car though

back to your Temp license, I went the MVA twice in 6 months to update it cos my status changed when my EAD came,

Ok, thanks.  That sounds better.  We had the AOS NOA with us when we applied... so stinks that they only issued the 2 month license and that he didn't realize he's been driving with an expired license.

I would talk to someone about it. I actually didn’t believe him that it would be possible but he swore to me that he read ppl in Maryland were getting their license before the EAD. So I told him try and let me know how it goes. He came back that day saying he has no issues.

All depends on who you speak to and get at the MVA, some people are clueless to our situation

Its amazing how people who work in these officers don’t have a clue how the visa system work
