I would highly doubt the shutdown would last until then but if the government is still shut down then there are no interviews. Or at least that is what every other forum on this page is saying.

Visas and passports functional normally but Interviews stop.

Are you sure? The USCIS website says interviews are still a go.

I havent read anything past yesterday morning but here is the thread:

According to what I read yesterday Interviews aren't performed through USCIS the visas are.  I didnt see anything specifically about interviews on the site you sent only just said that USCIS will remain open because they are primarily self funded and work out of immigration fees, which are also the same for how passports are processed.

Just read more on this forum and it appears that interviews may still be on. I would just call the Baltimore Office Monday and find out for sure.

"The government shutdown does not affect our fee-for-service activities. Our offices remain open, and all applicants should attend interviews and appointments as scheduled.” Then it lists exceptions for what will actually be affected.

Our family-based visa process is fee-funded, so we should all be fine.

Hello everybody!

Thank you for all your comments, this forum is really useful.

My biometrics appointment is scheduled for Friday this week in Baltimore. I applied for adjustment of status on December 15th, 2017.

I would be really curious to know how long did you wait to received your travel authorization.

I applied for my Advance Parole at the same time as the other forms. I have to be back home at the end of June. I wanted to know if 6 months is enough to receive the document enabling me to travel?

Thank you sincerely in advance for your help!

We applied July 2017 and it took just under 100 days. I would suggest filling out your VJ time line. They will use everyones updates on VJ to give you an estimate of your approval dates. It has been relatively accurate for us during the process (assuming there aren’t any issues with processing). It will also update continuously depending on what others are reporting.

Thank you for your help! If the estimate date is accurate, I should receive it in March (and I will have 3 more months before my trip in case!).

Have a great week!

Interview Question:

They want us to bring our financial sponsorship paperwork to the interview. My question is for past tax returns do they just want the 1040 forms?

My tax returns are 129 papers long and I think in the past I only submitted the first 3 pages (1040 forms) for the K1 and it was fine but now I can't remember. I am the US citizen (or as my husbands would say the, type A wife, hahaha.. at least I know where all our important paperwork is filed.).

My husband and I just used our tax transcripts (which we requested from the IRS). We had our interview today and was told they were fine. We included them in our initial application so we did not bring them with us to the interview.

Congratulations, hope the interview went well!! :D

I included all my past 3 years of my 1040s for my taxes in the initial application. I can't remember if I can just use the 1040s or if I needed the full 100 + pages for each year.

As far as I remember, they want to see the full tax returns, not just 1040s. It's much easier to use IRS tax transcripts instead. Your tax transcripts can be downloaded from your account with IRS. Good luck with your interview!
