Hey, my case was verbally approved Wednesday, and I woke up Thursday to a text saying my status as changed

My online status say New Card is Being Produced, I have from others that there status online as changed twice in a day, or twice in 2 days

Cool,

I appreciate each case, and each IO, is different. I had read plenty of people not getting verbal approval on the day, with many getting their decisions soon after. I will just have to wait it out I suppose and see if they do indeed want anything else. Ultimately I'm not worried as we are happily married and I can 'prove' that with the usual paperwork as much as anyone. I'll just be frustrated that she didn't ask for any of it on the day and we had it all there with us.

Thanks for the replies anyway

It shocked me, I was expecting the 120 day we’ll make a decision letter

If there’s one thing iv learnt from this process that there’s nothing to worry about it’s just a waiting game with no apparent system in place

Cool,

Yes. I've looked around on here and apart from a few initial scare stories from posters, they always end up getting their cards, so I will dial down the worry and just wait!

After going through the temporary work visa process, it all depends on the person interviewing.

Youll be fine, just the usual slow process

It's all a waiting game.

It could be as simple as someone being out with the Flu that is reviewing your case to a check box needing to be checked.

You will be okay! It really is just a waiting game!

Good Luck!! Its so hard to not over analyze every step.

Thank you! You're so right of course. There's no need to be impatient as it's taken this long already, but it is that case of seeing the finish line (well, the first one, and then there's another in 2 years lol). It's so easy to overanalyze, your absolutely right, and it does us no good :-)

I appreciate the response though, so thanks and all the very best with yours too!

It felt like a general chat, like the IO cared and was actually human to listen to our story.

Once she she started talking me and my wife relaxed, she loved my engagement and our dog

PD July 3rd 2017
Interview - 31st Jan 2018 Baltimore
GC in Hand - 7th Feb 2018 ( 7 months)

A week after my interview was approved on the day my Conditional Green Card came today.

The GC starts from my file date not my interview approval date.

For people waiting over a year, by the time you get approved you’ll be applying and paying again to remove the conditions 6/9 months later

Do I send my current valid EAD back or chop it up

You need to apply to replace your green card- it’s a mistake. Once you file, get a stamp in passport.

Are you sure? It seems logical to me to have the resident since date the same as filing date. I mean, it makes sense because it’s not people’s fault they get interviews after a year so why should they be penalized by getting a later residency date and therefore getting a later window to file for citizenship.

My GC start date is 1/23/2017. I wasn’t even married then. Looks like they just arbitrarily put mine one year before my interview...

Became a citizen 6/2024. Now filing for my mother.
