Hi all, hoping for some advice regarding the timing of submitting the I-751. My GC expiry is 08/28 which by my calculations means I can submit the I-751 any time after 05/31. However, my husband and I will be gone on holiday back to Canada for over a month, leaving USA on 06/06 and returning 07/09. To play it safe I was thinking I would wait until we got back to submit the I-751 on 07/10, however, my best friend is getting married in Canada on 08/27 so I will be flying back to Canada again at the end of August. I've read a bunch of the timelines on here about the timeline for receiving the NOA but I guess just wanted to clarify: would you recommend I wait to submit the package in July when we get back from vacation, or is that cutting it too close to get the NOA in time to make it safely back for the wedding at the end of August? I only need the NOA extending my GC for 1 year to be able to travel to Canada and back once the conditional GC expires, from what I understand? I was wondering if it was possible to submit the I-751 before our vacation and put my in-laws' address for return but I don't think I can do that and I heard that USPS does not forward USCIS mail. I'm also afraid of missing a biometrics appointment notice while away. Aside from my in-laws who live about 45 minutes away and are not wanting to come all the way to check our mail for us every week, we don't know anybody well enough in our area yet to trust with our mail key and something this crucial. Any advice from others' experiences would be really appreciated! I haven't missed having to deal with the stress that comes with USCIS for the last two years that's for sure!!

Mail it from Canada about halfway through your vacation. That way you wont miss your Bio appt. and you will have your extension letter before your 8/27 travel.
