I have been handling 3 different petitions in my family. We (Petitioner and I) sent Civil docs for all  3 petitions (Lets refer them as A,B and C) in mid April and had scan date of 20 April.

I just observed that Petition A got CC and had one added  row on recently updated screen compared to other 2 case (Petition B received checklist and Petition C has pending review)

On new updated screen (6 step info screen), If you see on right side just above the summary information There will be case information as:

  1. Case Number
  2. Visa Class
  3. Your case is currently at
  4. Foreign state of chargeability (I can see this only on Petition A which received CC, while I do not see this information on Petition B and C)

I am not sure if this can be new way of knowing if your case got CC. If other members can update here what they can see at CEAC, it will be helpful to others.

Hi Popat,

Please click on link to see an example of what a CC looks like. ;)

Thank you

Scan Date: April 27th

Checklist sent out: July 3rd

Hoping to have the checklist in hand by the end of the week so I can send out everything before I leave to visit my husband for a week.  Sad that it had to happen.  Over all this waiting, but glad to know he will be here eventually,  Hopefully before the holidays and our 2 year anniversary.  Fingers crossed

Hi,

How do I find out exactly what type of police record they need from my husband?

So sorry to hear about your checklist. Hope you can get it resolved ASAP. I found the following on the American embassy website in Colombia.

"INSTRUCTIONS PACKET # 4 (PDF 164 KB)

Scroll down to page 2 where you have a list of all the documents you need.

  • POLICE CERTIFICATES: All applicants who are 18 years or older must obtain a Colombian police certificate Certificado de Antecedentes Judicialesat http://www.policia.gov.co. Applicants who have lived in another country for more than 6 months since turning 16 years of age (except for the United States) must present police certificates from those countries too. Visit http://travel.state.gov/content/visas/en/fees/reciprocity-by-country.html for information about the availability and process for obtaining police certificates for other countries. Police certificates are valid for 12 months.

Found the Instruction Packet at this link. https://co.usembassy.gov/visas/immigrant-visas/family-based-immigration/immigrant-visa-interview/

@erusinque @Palmira-Cali @JB209 Any advice for Krysten? She's from Colombia as well...

Thank you,  JBMG

@krysten.danis I am sorry to hear you got a checklist for that. As @JBMG posted, the only police certificate is the one obtained online at the following link: https://antecedentes.policia.gov.co:7005/WebJudicial/index.xhtml

We got the screen printed out as is and got a "non-official" translation of it attached. However, I found something interesting last night which I dont know if it's your case:

https://travel.state.gov/content/visas/en/fees/reciprocity-by-country/CO.html#policerecords-6

" Any applicant who has a police record that states "Actualmente no es requirido por autoridad judicial alguna" (in English, "currently not wanted by any judicial authority") must bring their complete court records, along with an English translation, to the embassy on the day of their interview. Applicants who fail to bring these court records and the English translation will be required to return to the embassy for a second interview. "

For your reference, what the website shows for me (Colombian citizen) is "NO TIENE ASUNTOS PENDIENTES CON LAS AUTORIDADES JUDICIALES"

Although the previous website talks about what is required for the interview this could be the case for you at NVC.

If none of the above apply to you, then I recommend calling NVC to talk to a supervisor

Hello how are you? I'm sorry for your checklist, but let's think positive, everything will work out, has anything changed when you do the online consultation? I would like to know because we have a similar timeline, and I have not had any updates yet.

Nothing changed. It still says Submit Requested Documents. I just called last night when nothing changed.

@JBMG Hello, how are you, I'm waiting for 06/08 to call and check if we have any updates, the online checks are still the same, I'm pretty anxious.

Hi Rafael,

All is well. :) Thanks for asking.

Last case from Brazil that did mail processing got their CC in 69 days..  You're on day 68! :) So if trends stay the same, could have your CC any day now.

You and 3 others from our sheet still remain. Hope you all receive your CC's this week!!

@gili @April Mora @Mendoza.Love

Keep us posted. Good luck. :)

You're so welcome. I understand it's an anxious time and that SUCKS... I really hope you get your CC very soon.

Yes it would be great if more people were using the spreadsheet.. May/June scan dates won't be in the dark like we were some weeks ago. So thankful for you and everyone's contribution. I know it def helped me with my stress levels.

Hang in there. You're almost there! :) And soon you'll be reunited with your hubby!!

I just called and it seems my checklist for court records was overturned :))))) I'm so happy I could cry.

SD 5/04

Checklist 6/28

Case Complete 7/03

After all this paranoia, I almost feel as if I need to call a few more times to confirm case complete status but the rep said next steps are scheduling an interview with the embassy and the email notification which may take some time.

Will probably call again tomorrow just to check but finally, the end is near!

This process never ceases to amaze me, I really can't believe this. My wife and step children attended their interviews today. One snag. They had their medicals on the 24/06. Showed at the Embassy today. THEY CANT FIND THEM!! They think they're in the mail room..."Think"?

They interviewed were told they are approved pending medicals being found!!! These people.. sheesh... they said it should only be about two days to complete the file then two weeks for everything to be mailed.

@JBMG The spreadsheet won't update with my information ):

I could have deleted the wrong double entry.. But even if that's the case, it should reappear when you update it....  Not sure what's going on... let me play with it for a bit.. By chance do you have your original confirmation email from the first time you completed the questionnaire? search "google forms"
