So just got a checklist after CC but the notification clearly states I can bring the missing documents to the interview. However, this checklist is a little strange for my case and I wanted to ask for your help. NVC is asking for my wife's (USC) W-2 for 2015 only, but she's been living and working in Colombia since 2013 therefore she doesn't have W-2s for the 3 years of taxes we submitted (2014, 2015, 2016) but NVC is asking just for the W-2 of that year. As a side note and background we have a co-sponsor to help us surpass the requirements with income and we did submit everything for that person, including W-2.

Hi Guys,

Need some advice Please! We got a checklist from NVC requesting sponsor tax info, and for another I184 to be submitted as it "was not signed". We submitted 3 years of tax returns for my co-sponsor (w2's etc) and 2 for my main sponsor - NVC say they got none and that I can bring them to the interview which isn't a problem.

However, they said the I-864 wasn't signed by my co-sponsor (we are 110% positive that it was), and now they are saying submit it again and itll take another 11 weeks to process.

We requested to speak to a supervisor, to which we were told they do not have a supervisor.

Any Advice appreciated.... We've had a rough time with DHS prior to this so its getting disheartening. Thanks!

My advice, ask for your case to be expedited. If that doesn't work, then try to get a hold of a supervisor..

Hello, you've made it to 8+ weeks, click on the following links to check your IR-1/CR-1 visa case status:

Check My Visa Application Status

DS-260, Online Immigrant Visa and Alien Registration Application

If it says "At NVC" and your AOS information is missing.. Then you most likely have a completed case (CC)... Please call the NVC to confirm.

See Example

I've discovered that the processing times may depend on the country you come from. So on our spreadsheet, sort by interview city and see how long cases from your country took to get their CC's.

If your status still reads "Action required: Submit requested documents", you can call the NVC to ask if your case is under review. But honestly, I don't see how this really makes a difference as some people stay in review for 1 day whereas others 14 days+.. And the NVC doesn't always tell you if you're under review.. I would start calling the NVC after normal processing time for your country or after 9 weeks, whatever is later..

Please update the NVC Case Status Spread Sheet - 2017  with your latest status.

  • If you have not received a CC or you are not under review, update your notes.
    • "June 26 - Morning - Called, still not under review"  (please put date first in your notes).

Here are instructions on how to edit/save the questionnaire.

If you have lost your questionnaire, you can redo it, I'll delete the duplication.

I sent the acta inextensa long version this sucks

Have you tried getting a hold of a supervisor at the NVC to review the documents? It could be that they simply missed it?

Guys just saw this has anyone else gotten this. If anyone has do you know what it means

Summary Information

There are five steps you must take before the National Visa Center (NVC) can schedule your visa interview at a U.S. Embassy overseas. You should complete steps one and two online using the table at the bottom of this page:

  • Step 1: There are two types of fees. Click the “Pay Now” buttons to pay any required Affidavit of Support fees or Immigrant Visa Application fees. Note the application fee must be paid by each person who is immigrating, and cannot be paid until after NVC has reviewed the Form DS-261 you submitted in Step 1. More details are online in English and Spanish.
  • Step 2: After you pay the Immigrant Visa Application fee, please allow NVC one week to process your payment. You will then be able to access the visa application form online (Form DS-260). Click the “Start Now” button to begin. Instructions are online in English and Spanish.

After you have completed these two steps, you should gather and submit all required documents to NVC:

  • Step 3: Your petitioner should complete the appropriate Form I-864 (Affidavit of Support) and collect evidence of his/her income. Instructions are online in English and Spanish.
  • Step 4: Each visa applicant should collect the required civil documents, such as birth certificates. Instructions are online in English and Spanish.
  • Step 5: Submit all of the required documents from Steps 3 and 4 together in one package to NVC. Instructions are online in English and Spanish.

NVC will review your forms and documents once you have completed all five steps above. NVC will contact your agent to tell you if there are additional items required or if visa pre-processing is complete. You can find out how long it is taking NVC to review applicant documents at the links provided in Step 5 above.

If you need to change the attorney of record on this case, please contact the National Visa Center.
