Previously on my case: Scan Date of April 11, Checklist due to missing police certificate, a police certificate that has to be (and was) requested through the US Consulate in my country, then sent to the NVC, then sent back after case complete.

Spoke to the NVC on Friday who told me that the consulate doesn't actually have to send the police certificate to them, and as such my waiting period PROBABLY doesn't get reset. So I might be lucky and get a Case Complete fairly soon.

Hi!! Didn't forget about you. :)So I don't get what's going on... What are they advising you to do? Wait it out?  Wish they would just give you a CC already and move on.. Are you in contact with a supervisor?

Hello, you've made it to 8+ weeks, click on the following links to check your IR-1/CR-1 visa case status:

Check My Visa Application Status

DS-260, Online Immigrant Visa and Alien Registration Application

If it says "At NVC" and your AOS information is missing.. Then you most likely have a completed case (CC)... Please call the NVC to confirm.

See Example

I've discovered that the processing times may depend on the country you come from. So on our spreadsheet, sort by interview city and see how long cases from your country took to get their CC's.

If your status still reads "Action required: Submit requested documents", you can call the NVC to ask if your case is under review. But honestly, I don't see how this really makes a difference as some people stay in review for 1 day whereas others 14 days+.. And the NVC doesn't always tell you if you're under review.. I would start calling the NVC after normal processing time for your country or after 9 weeks, whatever is later..

Please update the NVC Case Status Spread Sheet - 2017  with your latest status.

  • If you have not received a CC or you are not under review, update your notes.
    • "June 26 - Morning - Called, still not under review"  (please put date first in your notes).

Here are instructions on how to edit/save the questionnaire.

If you have lost your questionnaire, you can redo it, I'll delete the duplication.

Well in conversations with the NVC, and a lawyer, I basically have to resend the police certificate request form to the US Consulate here in New Zealand (for the third time), and wait. According to the NVC, the Consulate will contact them and say "yes, we have a police clearance for this case" at which point NVC will mark it case complete. I'm a bit suspicious of this, but fingers crossed.

Wow.. Very frustrating.. . I feel for you.. You mentioned a lawyer, have you personally been in contact with the US consulate/embassy to see what's going on? Not sure if you're near the embassy.. If so, def advise heading over there during their opening hours..  I don't get how they can't process your police certificate request. 2 requests, now for a 3rd time..

I def agree with you there. Hopefully you'll hear something very soon. :)

From our spreadsheet, looks like 2 cases from your country had problems with their police certificate/clearance.. One, had missing pages, the other, a wrong version..  Have you verified that you sent in the correct version and did you write your case number on every copy/document you sent in?

If you have one, you should receive the checklist within a few days. It will let you know if you need to send the correct version to the NVC or bring it to the interview.. Keep checking your online status.. Sometimes the NVC customer service reps can be misleading..
