Yeah, it's tricky, I did the same the first time I completed it. I've added a tab to the spreadsheet to explain how to edit the questionnaire

Hello again,

Great news! There is a way to bookmark your questionnaire, after you click "EDIT RESPONSE" The questionnaire will open in a new link. If you bookmark that link in your favorites, you can access it later to edit it. :)

Thanks, glad you like it. :) Now if we can just get some more CC's on there. ;) It's exciting to see everything unfold under one sheet. Crazy how the dates are jumping around too.

no, they're not expedited, simply getting processed that quickly. It's annoying that the site says if you can't fit into 1 email, send by mail. This is not true. there are applicants who sent their documents in 2 different emails.. yeah, they get an automatic check list.. but it's corrected when they find the second email. Maybe taking 2 weeks to get processed versus 1 week..

oh man... i wish i would have know this... HAHA I wish you hadn't said it lol

I know.. And here I was thinking before we got to the NVC that we could all choose if we wanted to do email or mail.. no idea that it was restricted to a set of countries.. the entire process is a mess.. truly sad representation of the US.

I totally agree! i would also love to hear the explanation on the separation of countries... lord knows streamlining a process would be WAY to simple for the american government lol

IBM was hired years ago to "streamline" the process, but they have only automated payment and the greencard apps.

I guess they're heading in the right direction with the CEAC upload option now.. but seriously.. It's 2017.. I imagine in a few years (or i would hope so) it will all be streamlined.. Heck, for the fees we're paying. There is no excuse on why they can't have the process perfected...

Maybe they should move to the Cloud lol.  Technically the labor and costs they'd save from people calling for status checks and managing physical paper mail would pay for itself.

Totally. :) It's 2017 and we're sending in paper? hahah. Surprised they're not asking us to fax our documents.. hahah

honestly, not sure what's the point of their Customer service line (besides approving our ds-261 over the phone).

I feel for their employees after reading these reviews..

Yet, I was so fortunate to have spoken to Norma Jean! She was the first person I ever spoke to at the NVC and she spent a good 20 mins with me explaining the entire process. Even gave me tips on how to get a scan date as quickly as possible (calling in to approve the ds-261, gather my supporting documents, and pre-fill out the ds260, etc). I hope to get her again on the line to thank her.

Oh...my god...  I can't believe the wife of an NVC manager posted that feedback hahahaaa

Per their last discussion with the American Laywers Association, seems like they're still a mess but at least they confirmed photocopies of I-864 are acceptable at the interview and that new portal for certain locations is getting imlpemented this month.  Wish UK was one of the pilot countries :( (April 2017 Q & A Agenda)

Question 5. National Visa Center Requests for Form DS-260 after Form DS-260 has been filed.

AILA has received multiple examples over the last four months where the NVC has sent a notice indicating that documents will not be reviewed until the Form DS-260 has been filed. In each case the DS-260 was filed at least a month prior to the notice being sent. See Appendix A for examples. What can members do to correct this situation, as forwarding evidence that the DS-260 has been submitted has not in many cases, had any effect?

  • Response:
  • Thank you for drawing our attention to this issue. The National Visa Center is currently working with our systems team to resolve this issue as well as identify these cases and ensure they move forward in the process. We have also instructed our customer service team to search, locate, and update our records for any case impacted by this issue.

Question 18. IV Interview Letters.

Following the December 28, 2016, announcement that “wet ink” signatures are no longer required on submitted Forms I-864, I-864A, I-864W, and I- 864EZ, NVC confirmed that some interviews scheduled at the end of December were issued appointment letters with the old information indicating that original signatures are required. NVC further confirmed that, in these cases, original “wet ink” signatures are not required. NVC noted that they were in the process of updating appointment letters to reflect the new requirement. Have all appointment letters been updated at this time?

  • Response:
  • Yes, we can confirm that all appointment letters reflect the change in the requirement.

Question 23. Modernized Immigrant Visa Pilot Program.

On October 6, 2016, State indicated that the pilot program for the improved Consular Electronic Application Center (CEAC) portal was expected to launch at six posts in April 2017 for immigrant visa processing. a. Is the CEAC pilot still on target for April 2017?

  • Response:
  • The last systems updates for the full modernized immigrant visa (MIV) pilot are scheduled for the end of April, with the pilot to start in May.
