Hi All

I am a South African citizen.

My husband applied for dv lottery 2018 last year, checked Status on the 2nd of May 2017. was taken to a page which said “ I was selected for further processing for dv lottery for 2018. I received a case number (2018AF0000XXXX). I tried to go on to the site to complete my forms online and it keeps giving me an error. Is there something wrong? How this affect my process in application of my visa? What can I do to rectify the problem?

Please advice me on how to proceed further. IS IT POSSIBLE THE CASE NUMBER IS WRONG? WILL I BE GIVEN ANOTHER CASE NUMBER IF THIS PROBEL PERSIST?

Hope is fading fast... PLEASE HELP ANYONE!!!

Regards, Lucy

Hello, I'm having the same problem .. when I try to submit my DS-260 , I get this error:

Please correct all areas in error as indicated below. Once you have finished, click ''Sign and Submit Application' to continue.

  • The case number you entered does not match the case number that you entered at Sign In.

Is anyone having this problem?

"The information entered is not valid.
Please review the Confirmation Number, your Last/Family Name, and Year of Birth to ensure you have entered them exactly as they appear on your DV Confirmation Page, including punctuation.
Several characters are often confused:
0 = zero, O = letter 'O', 1 = one, I = letter 'I' (like 'Ice'), 5 = 'five', S = letter 'S', 6 = six, G = letter 'G', 8 = eight, B = letter 'B'       "

help me plz, i've been trying to check since yesterday :'(

Do you have the link for this info? I did use the same photo as for the DV lottery 2017. Which requirements changed?

Don't think they've changed.  It has always been a requirement that the photo must have been taken within the last 6 months.  Since the DV entries are a year apart, you cannot possibly use the same photo and meet that part of the requirement.

It has always been a requirement that the photos are less than 6 months old. This year they specified reusing an old photo will be disqualifying. If applicants read the instructions before filling in the entry they would have seen that.. in short it has always been wrong to use old photos but this year they seem much more specific about being able to disqualify.

Hi guys...Sorry to sound so freaked out, but I am glad i found fellow dv winners from SA.

My Knowledge of this is little to none, I was so excited and now I just feel anxious.

I just tried the site again...Sign In Failed

  • The Applicant's date of birth is invalid.

This is what it says now. Please tell me what to do? and the solution if possible....despite all of this

THANKS SUZIE QQQ AND MancGirl.

Regards,

Lucy

Is it because the US date convention is mm-dd -yyyy? Check you're filling in according to their date requirements.

Sam please edit out the number above.

PEOPLE PLEASE DO NOT POST YOUR OR ANYONE ELSE'S FULL CASE NUMBER. This program always has people targeting it by trying to hijack valid entries. By posting full case numbers for the world to see  you are helping them do so. This is a main reason why USCIS no longer mails out notifications.
