I-134 Schedule K1

Prepping I-134 for K1-visa. So, I'm a bit of an odd duck in that I'm self employed through a K1 partnership. I work for a startup company. So, for I-134 evidence, I only have a schedule K-1 (different from K-1 visa), no W-2 or pay stubs. VJ community, do you think the schedule K-1 and employer letter is enough? Employer would be my boss. I am a partner, but I'm really more treated as an employee.

One thing I'm a bit worried about is that most of my pay comes from guaranteed payments and not business profits. Basically, most of my income comes from the funding that we have from investors. I'm not sure if this will be a problem, and might be better to get a co-sponsor instead.

FWIW, I made $50,000 last year, so I'm sure I'm above the poverty guidelines. Also, I have been employed with the company for 4 years now, and expect to be continuing to work for them even until next year. I wonder if this is all that matters?

Also, I read that income must be 125% above poverty guidelines. Since I'm single with no dependents, I just calculate 1.25 * $12,060 = $15,075? Is this right?

Thank you, VJ community.

That sounds like a good start.   You will also need a transcript of your latest tax return.  Some embassies will require you have the last 3 years.  Make sure you get the "return transcript."   Also a letter from your bank with balance and how much in deposits you made would be good supporting evidence.  The K-1 guide is a good reference for this.

As far as the poverty guidelines go, not quite.  You count yourself + dependents you have + the beneficiary.  If its just you and the beneficiary that would be 2.  For the K-1 visa you need to make 100%.  When you AOS its 125%.  The chart is located here:

Good luck!
