We had biometrics this morning (awful experience by the way, they were taking 1 person every half hour and there were 20 people in front of him) ... and we couldn't sit together! Now that it's over I don't care, but I just thought it was weird. Sitting in a corner by yourself for 3.5 hours is never fun.

I hope that is not what my husband has to go through --- we have been waiting for quite some time --- the letters got mixed up and we got the appointment for the AOS about a month ago and then just today we got the appointment letter for the Biometrics --- The AOS interview is scheduled for April 18th and the Biometrics is scheduled for May 4th --- we are going to go into the Wednesday walk in at the Seattle office tomorrow === actually I am dropping my husband off there on my way into work --- the office is about a mile from my work location and he will just ride his bike home from my work location. well if he has to wait several hours it will do well to help fill his day --- he has become such a househusband lately ---

11/18/05 - NOA1 I -130

03/23/06 - K3 denied due to CMIT 23 years prior

03/23/06 - i-601 Waiver Submitted

04/07/06 - NOA1 for I-601 Waiver received

10/18/06 - I-601 Approved out of Vermont

11/27/06 - 10:00 appointment at Vancouver Consulate for Visa Stamp

11/27/06 - Arrive home 8.5 hours after crossing the border in Blaine Washington, due to horrible show storm --- we were happy to be home

01/04/07 - AOS sent off

01/10/07 - NOA - 1-485

01/25/07 - RFE for I-824 - used and outdated form

02/14/07 - Get email stating Post Office has Address posted as Vacant from the USCIS

02/16/07 - Hubby gets WA State Drivers Licence

03/05/07 - AOS appointment April 19, 2007 Seattle

04/13/07 - Biometrics Taken for AOS

04/19/07 - AOS interview - Approved pending name check

04/23 - 05/28 - 5 additional appointments with the Seattle USCIS office - to clear up the EAD issue

05/15/07 - 90 Day EAD Arrives

06/10/07 - EAD/Green Card approval letter arrives

06/15/07 - EAD arrives

06/23/07 - 2 year conditional Green Card Arrives

I could sit with Eric for a while but then they asked for everyone who did not have an appointment to go outside the room since there were not enough chairs for the people waiting so he left and i waited on my own. We waited for about an hour and half in Baltimore last week.

And there was this Korean family, one old man and two younger men, who decided to ignore what the security guy said and kept coming in and out the room the whole time and talking really loud (and weird :P) ...they were driving me nuts! :wacko:

The Atlanta office is rather open as far as space goes. We were allowed to sit together, and when Joel went for his fingerprints he was within sight so I kinda got to watch the process. I guess it depends on the office.

Hubby didn't go for the biometrics with me, so he didn't have to wait. Not that he would have had to - there was nobody in the ASC that day. Not a soul. I was the only one :blink:

Our office has "limited space" but we could sit together, was done in 30 mins, and the little room he couldn't come in to with me but he could see me

What a crappy experience! I can't imagine why they wouldn't let you sit together. That's bizaar.

We were told the same the letter said, only those who needed to be accompanied for some good enough reason could stay inside, but they only asked people to leave when the room got more crowded, maybe that is what happened to the OP as well. :)

Ouch. I went alone to my biometrics appointment, but still I was in and out in 15 mins. The most annoying thing about it was the 2+ hour drive there.

We were the only ones there at our office, and we sat together in the waiting room, but he went back by himself (he was only back there for five minutes max).

October 2005: Met online playing World of Warcraft

December 19, 2005: David flies to America on VWP to visit

February 26, 2006: Married!

March 14, 2006: Filed I-130 ... by itself. Oops.

June 21, 2006: I-130 approved

March 12, 2007: Mailed I-485 package

April 5, 2007: Biometrics

May 30, 2007: Email notification: EAD approved!!

June 4, 2007: EAD received!!

July 24, 2007: Interview 8am APPROVED!!! Day 133 from filing. Emails for card production and welcome letter.

July 25, 2007: Passport stamped

August 6, 2007: GC in hand

aww im sorry meow... we havent had bad experiences at the ASC (been there twice) in and back out 1st time in 40 minutes, and the 2nd time 15 minutes.

what was your location? we went to the brandon one.

We went to the Brandon one too...I didn't expect to be able to go in with him, but they wouldn't let us sit together either. When you got up to the desk (and they said this to everyone) they said, "You on this side, you wait for him on this side"

I just hadn't seen anyone else say they had that happen, so I was wondering.

We went in to Baltimore too and although the letter did ask that no unnecessary people accompany you, David came in after all because I'd say only about one tenth of the chairs were taken. It was us and another family. The biometrics was done in about 7 minutes so I have no idea why they were doing only 1 per half hour as was your situation.

Well .. at least it's over now, right?
