That would be why you have such an easy time crossing the border. When you have a Nexus card you have been pre-screened for your border crossings. Having a Nexus card makes crossing the border similar to going through a toll booth.

Well, that's not exactly true. I still get questioned, and sometimes they still give me a hard time. Granted, it doesn't happen often, but I wouldn't call it similar to a toll booth.

Oh, I thought they were "so laid back" as you stated previously. So they're not laid back and do give you a hard time on occaision? That's pretty much what I have experienced and is what I expressed in my post. I don't cross the border daily and I don't have a Nexus card, which makes crossing the border a bit more difficult.

They are mostly laid back, but they sometimes ask a lot of questions. Some of the agents seem to power trip, but it's the minority. Now that I'm a permanent resident it's easier, but before that, they would ask a lot of questions about my husband and why I hadn't moved yet before I did. I'm not trying to argue, just giving my perspective as someone who crosses there daily. Mainly I just find it interesting when people have much different experiences at the borders I cross at, which is why I originally replied to you.

The tunnel has a reputation in Windsor for being the "easier" crossing. I work with the border law enforcement agencies, including CBP and CBSA, for what it's worth.

I've heard exactly the opposite from my wife and her Canadian friends and family that live in Windsor. According to them the Ambassador Bridge is easier. Who knows for sure, everyone has different experiences no doubt. I just know that I've had the two worst experiences I've ever had crossing the border at the Windsor Tunnel, and it was one experience going each way, so it wasn't one particular side that was giving us grief.

It's strange how one border can have two totally different reputations. Same with the border agents. Some people swear CBP are dicks, some people swear CBSA are jerks. I guess the truth is probably somewhere in the middle.
