Mother's Family Name

I-129f  Part 1, #32a, Mother's Family Name:  What are they looking for here, Maiden or Legal (Married) name?

 

Called the USCIS National Customer Service Center with this question and the agent was comically unhelpful. On another topic, whether or not to submit forms G-325a with the new (dtd. 04-10-17) I-129f, he was equally ambiguous.

I would go with her current surname if I were to fill out the form.

 

The g-325a looks like it won't be needed anymore but we're not 100% sure about this yet, so why take the chance? It doesn't cost you anything to fill it out and add it to the package "just in case".
