But that has nothing to do with the salary the make!

Most ppl don't think they paid enough for what they do. These guys get transferred all over the country and deal with all sorts of ppl. But if they were a private business they would go bankrupt.

hahaha  sure, that's why so SO many people have bad time with those guys.

Most of the people in that kind of jobs are really committed with their labor, not about the pay, but the duty that involves.

If I was you I wouldn't take any risk on my inmigrantion process, either to underestimate the mood of a CBP agent.

Many do have a bad time but they're not an agency that needs to show any accountability. I had my vehicle searched 4 out of 6 times and I'm as clean as a whistle. I don't buy the argument about duty. I've seen them search an 80 year old couple who can barely walk. They love the petty power. I've had them curse and threaten to arrest me for asking a question. They better streghten up or they will become a target of more people than they can handle.

I am not sure if this helps at all. I would follow the advice given you in this forum but, again I am speculating here, if you are talking to them in the same manner as you are voicing your frustration, it may just be that they are not willing to cooperate.

I agree, though, that you should have received the information. I am just surprised you are left hanging.

You should contact your senator/governor and ask them to contact USCIS. I have known a case where a petitioner did not receive RFE and they also went through the whole process of contacting USCIS. After everything they contacted senator and the liaison took care of the issue for them.

I think you should give that a go.

Last time I showed border patrol our marriage certificate and the letter showing our petition is pending. It seems they can define "living" however they want but it's obvious we're waiting for the visa. If they decide to be jerky I'll have to rent a place in Montreal. Border agents don't make a fortune so I hope they sympathize.

They're not being jerky, they're doing their job.  Your wife is pretty much violating the terms of her visitors status

Morning we have a lawyer, my pd is September 16, 2016 and our case is at Potomac service center.

We had the same problem.

When USCIS received our paperwork, we waited almost 2 months to get the AOS1 in the mail. I don’t know why it took so long.

March 21, 2017 we got an update on USCIS saying the mail returned back to USCIS because the post office couldn’t deliver the mail.

My lawyer request a copy of the letter. We waited and still never get the letter then they request it again and all I saw was on April 14, 2017 RFE was received and Potomac will begin to work on your case again.

I don’t know if they ever did get the letter and what RFE they needed from us.

Today we still waiting to be approved yeah I know we have 30-60 days to be approved.

You need to call them and let them know you never received the letter.

On my app I saw 3 RFE was mailed on April 10 2016 and May 10, 2016.

USCIS is just simple it hard, why they can’t just email the RFE instead mailing it. They know they will have more RFE  to review then it is now because they is mail it and not everyone will get it plus the mailing is delay sometimes.

by the way Kynight make a timeline so we can get a better understand for timeframe and when to expect to get approved etc well not for USCIS but for all of us.

Everything we told the officers is legit. It was their call to let us in. If this takes too long we will have to get into another home away from home as I don't feel comfortable telling Border Patrol that we want in because the immigration service is delayed/atrocious.

Living here on a tourist visa is a violation.  More time in her own home than here is important.  Immigration works on their rules not ours.  There are people here who go years without their spouses.  It sucks but it is only temporary.

uscis is overworked and under funded so of course it won't be speedy

I think you should give that a go.

I'm going to wait until May 24th which the Tier agent suggested on the phone yesterday. My mother and aunt have experience writing senators. Maybe I will do that. My wife wouldn't mind going back to Canada but I don't want to live there. I have to make this work this year.

It doesn't hurt to ask. Not long ago people crossed the US/Canada border with no passport. I'm willing to drive 1000 miles one way to ask for another 2 months. I think USCIS is well funded but they're very inefficient. I used up time of 10 agents when 2 would have sufficed.

It's common knowledge on here that they're underfunded/understaffed/overworked with caseloads.  They do not receive government funding and work strictly off of our fees.

it can hurt to ask as she could lose her ability to visit anymore before her visa comes.  The wrong day and border guard and they could turn her right around.  You could have all of the documentation in the world and it could happen.  It's happened to many a Canadian on here before myself included
