My wife is more impressed about Five Guys than I am. Of all the burger joints In N Out is by far my fav. Certainly in the plans to get that when visiting one of my best buds in California next summer. (payback for him driving out from there to Toronto when we lived there)

Yes but they have a new Jolliebee about 4 hours from here. It is at the top of the list

I tried 5 guys the other day. Way over rated and over priced

5 Guys is fine, but I don't go there for burgers. They make a good BLT and give me as much pickles as I want, but the fries can be a bit excessive. The husband loves it though, and I must admit the people that work there are so nice and joyful. I'd like to see how their grilled cheese tastes.

BTW, I was completely horrified when I tasted a burger from McD's/Burger King in the UK... but I am not a fan of British beef in general. It's greasy and watery and tastes off. That being said even the chicken nuggets taste WEIRD, which is sad because British chicken is simply amazing so I don't know how they ruin it. Maybe its the oil they use? If I want a quick sandwich on the go though, I'd pop into one of the local cafes, chip shops or a Greggs.. man that is good stuff. Don't waste your money on silly American chains.

I agree with this 100%, though I've not been throughout the entire UK to say if it sucks that bad in Wales, Ireland/NI, and Scotland. It's just weird in England, outside the pubs I just can't hold a conversation with people. They don't do smalltalk? Didn't like that. Nor did I like the weather, nor the food, nor the prices of anything (when stuff wasn't some ridiculous import cost it was still expensive as hell).. despite being around a good chunk of Europe I found England way disappointing.

Culver's is awesome!  Checkers is poor people's Burger King with tasty fries

I guess next drive through Idaho, which probably won't be in a long time anyways (at least that part of Idaho, will undoubtedly be driving through the very north part again near Coeur d'Alene within the next year), I'll probably check it out.

Depends on where in England. Overall it's not about smalltalk, it's just that the culture is reserved, respectful, and old school. Everyone is aware of everyone else's space and likes boundaries. It's not that they don't like to talk, but if a stranger boldly starts to strike up a convo randomly, it might be seen as intrusive or in some situations creepy. Banter is reserved for pubs. But the people to the North of England are extremely welcoming, friendly, and talkative and since I have been all over, I found it a wonderful place. We are explorers/hikers so I liked that no matter what the weather there was always a deep trail, waterfalls, villages, beaches, caves, castles, and ruins to explore. I love their food overall, but it's stuff I've been used to since my grandmother could fix English and German cuisine. I still remember a small castle town of Warkworth, and a place to eat that was just a tiny room in someone's house. One of the best homecooked meals ever. Yorkshire and The Lakes was also very nice, most people there very friendly. The beef is the same though, wherever you go. ;)
