I have a question and it may sound strange but was wondering if my Canadian Fiance went thru the interview, received his passport and visa in the mail after a week, is he able to come and visit like a normal traveler for a few weeks(Not on visa) yet,

go back to Canada and then wait a couple months to enter on the k1??

Very Canadian specific question, but in the end it depends on the CPB officer at POE.  He can try but I would only do this with a land crossing so as not to waste a plane ticket if CBP wont.

I asked this question after my interview since I will not be ready to move until mid summer.  I was told to bring the sealed package with me and explain the situation to the custom officer....meaning no guarantees. I will probably try to drive over next month and see what happens.  I also am considering getting an enhanced drivers license.  They can be used to cross the border by land as well.  So no need to show my passport.
