Does that mean you condemn Melania and Ivanka too then for their mission to empower women and girls ?
Bush did it, Obama kept Bushes plan in place. Trump is too focused on undoing anything Obama even if it includes little girls.

Way to go make them even more paranoid about their weight while allowing the boys to munch on burgers and fattening foods so they can be nice and strong for the football team.

 

If a Trump had suggested this program there would have been a huge outcry. President wants slimmer girls so starts food program, you can already hear the grabbing jokes already.....

Is the article saying anything about the gris getting healthy lunches? It seems to me there are two separate issues, but I may have misinterpreted the article. Where did you get that take?

I am happy to see you have embraced Melania and Ivanka. 

 

I like them both too.  I see no reason to pretend that women in the US have an education disadvantage. Sure…this may be true in other countries…and I think the programed discussed was actually for other countries. I don't know how many millions were were giving away…..but it would be better to spend that money right here in America for all students….not just girls.

Does their plan involve more tax dollars? If so, yes. Giving people free stuff isn't empowerment, and it's hard to see something as virtuous or charitable and appreciate it when you're forced to pay for it.

That is a narrow minded opinion in my view. It's not about free "stuff" it's about equality and an even jump start for disadvantaged girls everywhere.

Special treatment is not equality. Nor is it empowerment. It's just special treatment.

 

Treating people as equals, moreover, by their merit, instead of giving them things because of their gender.. that's equality.

 

Giving people special treatment because of their gender, last I checked, is called sexism.
