Hello,

We applied in MAY 2017 (for my wife) to remove conditions on residency, shortly after she got a letter for her biomertrics appointment, however we have not heard anything since then, and now its almost a full year.

I went online to check her case status, and to my surprise it says

"Case Was Received At My Local Office

On February 26, 2018, we received your Form I-751, Petition to Remove Conditions on Residence, Receipt Number WACxxxxxxxxxx, at your local office. If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address.:"

That is the status I get when I check the first of the two  application numbers on the FORM I-797C (NOTICE OF ACTION) form, the number that starts with I751-WACXXXXXXXX. However, when I check the other number that starts with CRI89-WACXXXXXXXX, it says

"Case Was Received

On May 5, 2017, we received your Form CRI-89, Petition to Remove Conditions of Permanent Resident Status Received, Receipt Number WAC1715650652, and sent you the receipt notice that describes how we will process your case. Please follow the instructions in the notice. If you do not receive your receipt notice by June 4, 2017, please call the USCIS Contact Center at 1-800-375-5283. If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address."

Did anyone experience this also and can anyone make any sense of this?

ANY SUGGESTIONS WHAT TO DO?

Thanks a lot I appreciate any help

Most of us have the same message. There is an entire forum talking about it if you google it, called "case was receieved at my local office" and there is a lot of especulation about what it means. Ut no one really knows. We just keep waiting.

I would like to ask a question regarding of applying n400. Would it be better to apply online or mail the application???any thoughts???is there a difference for the time frame of approval???

I applied on line and it was very easy, fast and overaal a very friendly experience. Also, I got my receipt right away so I could track my case. The communication seems way better and more secure as I didnt have to go through the hassle of printing anything or worrying about that my case could get lost in the mail.

I would recommend doing it on line, as always just make sure to review it and provide everything they are asking you to submit. Good luck!

Hello, fellow May filers! We filed April 28 but NOA arrived May 2, 2017.

I need your help. Now that my NOA expired ( May 2, 2018) as well as GC ( July 5, 2017) I am trying to schedule an infopass app. and here is what i am getting ( see the print screen below). Anyone had experience with this? Do you think they will actually get back to me? Any recommendations of what can be done if I don't heard from them in weeks? Thank . you!

Good Question 🤷🏻‍♂️

just as it was mentioned before, the online experience is pretty slick. I made sure to double, triple check our answers because online proofreading seems a little more difficult than on paper. You are limited to how many documents you can upload so Choose Wisely if you have several areas to upload evidence, such as birth certificates for children, proof of Child Support, photos versus written statements. You can always bring more evidence in for your interview.

We had an infopass appointment a couple weeks ago and spoke with the immigrations officer. He was very clear that the online form will get to that local office much more quickly than one that is mailed in.

as a side note, the online application will hold your draft for 30 days, and then update it each time you spend a significant amount of time on it, extending your expiration of your working application for 30 more days. *However* they are updating the site on May 19th. So any information that you have saved in the workable form will be lost if you do not get it sent by May 18th

Just FYI your extension letter extended your green card for 1 year. So your "expiration" date is July 5 2018. You can try getting an i551 stamp between June 5-July 5

05-18-2022: Filed N-400 online. Received online NOA and Biometrics re-use.

06-03-2022: Interview scheduled (online notice).

06-10-2022: Interview letter received via USPS.

I live in Minnesota and my extension expires on July 30. I have been trying for more than two months to find a window to schedule an Infopass appointment at different times of the day (not that I will book an appointment before late June or early July but just wanted to be prepared to see what the schedule in Minnesota look like). I never found an opening. However, the Iowa office is 3 hours drive from where I am and they have openings every week. Will the officer in Iowa look at my case and stamp my passport? Or do I have to go to my local office only? Anyone with similar experience who went out of state to get it stamped?

I live in PA but I saw no other offices close to me had openings so I went to Baltimore MD office instead. And no problems there! (:

Really? I was under the impression ( and saw in another thread somebody talking about this) that your proof of status expires when your NOA expires, and this is especially true for those who wish to travel abroad. Well, I must have misunderstood smth.

Interesting! Did you go to Newark USCIS office? I went in last month and was able to get a stamp even if my extension letter is valid until June.  I showed them a letter from DMV asking me for a renewed certificate of residency otherwise my license would expire this month of May. I also said that we will be traveling all summer and I would be busy after March and it would be difficult to come in for a stamp later on. The officer who helped me was very easy to deal with. Sorry to hear the experience is not the same!

We didnt receive any notice from DMV yet. We recently moved to NJ. We showed our DL tht its gonna expire soon. But the officer saw the DL but he didnt stamp it:angry:. He just told us to come in June to get stamp. Hope may filers get out approval soon:wacko:

Hi, Jose. Did you already receive any update for your next step? Biometrics date may be?

Hi Jane. Yes I did, 2 days after I upload my application they sent me my Biometrics appt.

I have to go on the 22nd and my extension letter is expiring in a few days, so I am hoping I can get an stamp in my passport that day as well.

Does anyone know if I need another appt aside from my biometrics to get the stamp?

The bearest office is 2 hours away and I need a whole day to go. Very inconvenient.
