Hi Kitti, do you mind if I ask you what documents are you submitting with your application? I haven't started the application yet but I am planning to do it soon on line too. Do you know if we can upload the supporting documents? Or we still need to mail them?. I highly appreciate your input .

Hello Jose. I did the N400 for a relative of mine. It was a nice big, calorie-free, piece of cake really. The only annoying thing is the double-factor authentication. IF you have another account, which I do for my Spouse, you cannot use the same cell number for the authentication code. Nice big lettering, easy to understand application. USCIS did a great job. They also keep you informed about the case. Yes you can upload everything they need. After you submit the application, they reach into your pocket and take $725 of your hard earned money......:-(

Take the originals to the Interview....

You can upload them online. Each person is different as far as what docs they need. They will tell you when you complete the form.  There is the minimum docs, and then you can upload more or bring them to the interview.

Thank you Kitti! Sounds pretty straight forward ;). Thanks again!

A quick question - Is it wise to file N-400 when you become eligible, while your ROC I-751 is pending? (I am not eligible until last week of May 2018) I have seen mixed opinions on this so just wanted more clarification to start preparing documents.

Have a great day!

I am last week of May and have the mixed feelings like you also.  They say they combine the I-751 and N400 and end up processing both.  But with, hopefully, an approval within the next few months (wishful thinking?) I am reluctant to start the N400 until I have my 10 yr GC.  I travel out of the country at least 3-4 times a year and I think I would rather just have the GC in my hand and then do my N400.  I think if you don't travel or need to go anywhere, then there is no harm in getting it all done at once.

I received an update from https://my.uscis.gov for my N-400. I think it depends on your local office but mine said Total Wait Time is 10 months. Processing should be separate for both cases unless your N-400 ends up catching up on your I-751 processing.

HR at work just called me saying that on my I-9 it doesn't say the Expiration Date and their system shows that I don't have a valid work permit since my 2-yr GC expired last August 2017. I applied to remove my 2-yr GC to 10-year last May, and even got my 551 stamp this February. This lady is not that familiar with our Green Card paperwork procedure since she mainly deals with American citizen. What paperwork and reference I should submit  to prove to her that I can work legally here and kind of educate her on the matter?

I NEED TO HAVE A PHONE CALL WITH HER AND MY SUPERVISOR TOMORROW SO MY DATA IS UPDATED IN THEIR SYSTEM. Please help - I'm super freaked out.

May 2017: ROC package sent

6/3/17: Check cashed by USCIS

6/9/17: Biometrics Notice sent

6/28/17: Biometrics Appointment completed

***NEVER RECEIVED THE NOA1 - Extension letter for another year (probably got lost in the mail or USCIS  never sent it by mistake?!)

2/13/18 at 11:10AM: Infopass appointment schedule to have 1-year stamp on birth country passport

Reminder: to file for N-400 form starting from 5/15/18 and onward as 90 days before 3-year anniversary

You should be able to give them a copy of the I-797 that you received for the one year extension and/or they can make a copy of your passport with the stamp showing the new extended date.

4/28/15 - Called and NVC said supervisor had reviewed and now claimed that the decree absolute was not included. After disagreeing with the less than helpful lady on the phone, and her not being able to get the review time right. (She kept changing her story between 42 days and 30 days).

4/30/15 - Sent the same copy of the decree absolute to the NVC from the UK, highlighting the "decree absolute" wording with a letter stating that this is the only document provided by the UK government.

How long did it take for them to update the expected processing time for you? Thank you.

Yes I think it the best approach to be done with everything once and for all. I am not travelling anytime soon so I would probably file N-400 in last week of May.
