Thank you all for your reply.  How do I apply for an info pass?  I am a Canadian passport holder so I may not need to get a Mexican visa.  I am more concern of my re-entry to the US because my extension letter expires 3 days after my re-entry.

Thank you again for your reply.

Thank you again for your reply.

If you're a May filer of ROC then I assumed your US permanent residency expires on Aug 2018, if you will comeback before Aug 2018 then you're good to enter the US but if you will return after Aug 2018 then you will be in trouble coming back. Your US permanent residency extends based on your green card not on the letter aka I-797.

US Residents: If your United States visa stamped on your passport already expired but you have an official document proving your legal status in USA, you must apply for a Mexican visa (I-797 A Forms, Advance Parole Forms, I-20 OR DS-2019 Forms won’t be accepted to entering Mexico), unless you have a valid Visa for any of the countries listed above (Canada, Japan, United Kingdom or Schengen area).

All because of Trump's stupid wall.

What about the i551 stamp in the passport?

Does that count as a visa?  Or just an official document proving legal US status?

Has nothing to do with Trump.  We went 3 years ago when my wife was denied and detained.  Stop throwing blame when you have no proof or factual information.  First of all it's the Mexican gov. that is requiring those document, NOT the U.S. and Pres. You are here because obviously you are trying to obtain a Visa or status LEGALLY.   This process and everybody on here wouldn't have to wait years if our borders were secure and there weren't so many ILLEGALS flooding the U.S. systems and slowing them down.

Is there any way to make an Infopass appointment other than online? I've been trying via https://my.uscis.gov/appointment but every time it just says "Currently, there are no available appointments. Please check again tomorrow."

Since current process is from September 2016, it seems unlikely they will get to us by May. https://egov.uscis.gov/cris/processTimesDisplayInit.do

And we can't make an appointment to get stamp or even just basic info (since I don't see any way to check i-751 online)?

I had this same problem what I needed to get my extension from them. I found that waiting until midnight was the way. I guess the system resets at midnight so it releases the appointments for the next week. If midnight doesn't work, try 1am or 11pm as it could be a different time zone...

HI All,

Thanks for everyone's insights. Here's my dilemma, My Letter of extension expires May 23, 2018 and I am traveling to Mexico and coming back on May 20th.  Do you think I will have a problem? Anybody here have experienced the same situation?

Thanks.

Better get a Visa for Mexico. They won't honor anything else if they don't want to. My wife had to spend the night in detention and got sent back home the next morning when we went there for honeymoon. They had told us we had the necessary paperwork, then when we got there it was a whole different story and they wouldn't accept anything but a VISA. Even the US Embassy couldn't help get her out.

Lol. This is so odd because everyone's experience is so drastically different. My husband and I travelled to Cancun in Sept 2017 for my bday, I did not see the visa requirement issue until the night before we flew out, so I DID NOT SLEEP. I was so worried that I would not be let in that I just had stomach cramps and was sweating like a maniac all night. My husband was convinced I was going to be fine and was snoring away (sigh). Anyway, I was able to fly and enter without a problem, I had my Kenyan passport, expired green card and extension letter. They only looked at my passport and expired green card and waved me through (I was sweating bullets, y'all).

If I had know about the visa requirement I would have saved myself some worries and actually followed it. It's so much better to be safe than sorry (or even sweaty, I WAS SO SWEATY).

Also, this is not because of Trump (as much as I dislike the man) this requirement seems to pre-date him. My advise would be to go ahead and get the visa, just in case you're not particularly lucky.

Hey guys, quick question.

Does anyone use the Case tracker mobile app? It has a search bar for your receipt number and another bar named (count) which lets you put in a random number up to 500. The higher the count is the more receipt numbers I'm seeing in an increasing order.  Each i751 applicant has only one receipt number right? Because one of the results shows "case was received at my local office" but the last digit is different from my actual receipt number on my NOA. Under my receipt number it shows validation error. Am I guessing right that is someone else's receipt number and that the message applies to someone else?  Thank you.

We've got the same thing.  On Feb 26, your case was received at your Local Office.  Hopefully Dallas isn't too backed up and this will move things along.

For those that didn't see the other thread, here is the link:

Mar 2014 - Married

5/7/14?? - Attorney mailed paperwork

5/15/14 DHS cashed check

5/19/14 - NOA1 received with PD 5/12/14

10/17/14 - NOA2 received

10/28/14 - Email received that file has been sent to NVC

11/13/14 - NVC received file

12/10/14 - NVC Assigned case number

12/12/14 - AOS Fee Invoiced

12/13/14 - Submit email to NVC to remove attorney as DS-261 Agent

12/16/14 - AOS Fee showing as Paid

12/17/14 - IV Fee invoiced

12/20/14 - IV fee available and paid

12/27/14 - DS-260 submitted

1/2/15 - AOS and IV packages sent to NVC

1/5/15 - USPS delivered packages to NVC

1/7/15 - NVC scanned in packages. Let the countdown begin...

1/30/15 - FINALLY got a reply to my email to remove the attorney from the DS-261

3/9/15 - Called NVC and they have checklisted us for an "incorrect" decree absolute from the UK, even though it is the legal official document. Have requested a supervisor review.

4/28/15 - Called and NVC said supervisor had reviewed and now claimed that the decree absolute was not included. After disagreeing with the less than helpful lady on the phone, and her not being able to get the review time right. (She kept changing her story between 42 days and 30 days).

4/30/15 - Sent the same copy of the decree absolute to the NVC from the UK, highlighting the "decree absolute" wording with a letter stating that this is the only document provided by the UK government.

5/6/15 - Scan date for checklist received.

6/5/15 - Case complete!!!

6/12/15 - Called and interview is scheduled for July 1!

6/14/15 - Received email with interview date and instructions.

6/19/15 - Case showing as ready on CEAC.
