Hey there everyone. We filed May 10th at VSC, and it was received on May 12th. Our check was cashed 10 days later and we have heard nothing since till our Biometrics letter came on June 10th (although it was dated June 2) and our appointment is June 19th. But we never got a NOA1 letter with the extension. Is it worth calling?

Do call USCIS and ask to be escalated to a Tier-2 officer. He/she can request a duplicate copy of the NOA1 resent to you. Also, go to myUSCIS website and put in your WAC number (receipt number shown on your biometric letter), then look at the last updated date. That date is the date that they sent you the NOA1.

We never got ours so when we spoke to the officer, he put in a service request for a duplicate and said that we should receive it sometime next week. Fingers crossed.

I just called and the woman, for me at least, wouldn't put in a service request for a duplicate. She said that since our biometrics is on Monday, we can just ask the officer there for it, or even schedule an Infopass while we are there. I'll probably have my husband call them as well, maybe he will get someone more willing to help out.

Did you ask whoever answered the phone to escalate your case to a Tier-2 immigration officer?

I don't know where you will be having your biometrics taken but, in most cases, it will be at an ASC. I asked to speak to an immigration officer at the ASC (not the guard at the entrance or front desk) and mentioned to her about the missing NOA1. I asked if she could put a stamp on my GC to extend it since I never got the NOA1, or at least print me a copy of the NOA1. She replied that they do not have the authority to do that at the ASC and any such requests must be made with the local USCIS office or via the National Customer Service via phone. The NOA1 must be initiated by the service center (CSC in our case).

Please call the uscis number again and say its been over 30days and you haven't received your NOA1 and ask to speak to a immigration officer. Do not mention biometrics unless asked. You cannot hang up without either speaking to a immigration officer or having a service request number. NOA1 is an important document.

Also there is noway an ASC center can do anything related to immigration except take fingerprints. I am sad how cavalier the customer service personnel was.

I can confirm that. I had my biometrics yesterday at the ASC in Orlando. I asked for the stamp in my passport and the officer there referred me to the field office and InfoPass appointment since he said they won´t do walk ins. The guard said the same but said as well they might put a stamp in the passport or they don´t. It is up to the officer there. The other officer at ASC said they probably will do after explaining that especially overseas airline personal at check in or border officers sometimes really don´t know what to think about an expired GC in connection with the extension letter.

I did ask to be escalated to a Tier-2 officer but she woman kept telling me that they couldn't do anything. I kept asking, "can't you just send a duplicate copy?" and she kept offering me solutions that were really just ideas of her not having to do anything to help. Our biometrics area (In Buffalo) can also do Infopass and such there. She kept telling me she couldn't do anything or release information to me since my husband needs to be the one on the phone.
