Hey everyone. I just saw that I have an RFE. I am may 17 filer WAC17238...

I just saw it on the case tracker, I haven't actually read the letter. I work in music and tour all the time and won't actually be home until Mid November. Do you know what the time limit is on the letter and getting further evidence to them?

I was divorced in December 2016 so filed with a waiver as we are no longer on speaking terms. I can't even remember what I sent the first time so I have no idea what I could be missing. If anyone has been through an RFE, please can you help. I'm so worried now that I will be rejected :(

https://www.uscis.gov/sites/default/files/USCIS/Outreach/Feedback Opportunities/Interim Guidance for Comment/change-timeframes-rfe.pdf

This indicates that you have a max of 12 weeks. However they can request a response in less time so there's really no way of knowing :c

"USCIS officers may reduce the response time from the standard timeframes only after obtaining supervisory concurrence. This discretion should be used on a case-by-case basis when warranted by circumstances as determined by the adjudicator and the supervisor.

The maximum response time for an RFE may not exceed 12 weeks (84 days). However, when an RFE is served by mail, USCIS officers should include additional mailing time for the RFE to reach the applicant/petitioner and for the response to reach USCIS."

If you're filing with a waiver they might be requesting a copy of the divorce decree.. Is this something you submitted with your initial application?

So, I received a RFE on August 2nd even though I am still married to my husband. I have up till October 27th to send the RFE. in the letter it will tell you what you have sent. And it will ask for a list of things they need. It is advisable for you to have someone forward the letter to you or even take a picture and pdf it email it to you. You really have to send whatever you have.

For this time I'm sending joint account statements, a trust/will, beneficiary information, more affidavits even tho I have already sent 5.. joint tax forms for 2016/2017.. joint phone bills. I know circumstances are different for you so that's why you need the letter to see what they need. I hope this gives a lil insight. Goodluck

Any more good news from May 2017 filers?

I am VSC filer. May 8, I got a RFE on August 3. I filed with multiground waivers: divorce and extreme cruelty. I do not write much on this thread because there are other threads for my case.

Anyway, the RFE was for a more detailed affidavit of the abuse case. Which I already submmited and got confirmation yesterday that it was received by USCIS. Hope they waibe tbe interview...if not, I will attend interview and that will be it.

I got an RFE dated August 3 with deadline to respond October 28. Even if she filed with a waiver, she has to proof bona fide marriage. So the additional evidence that USCIS might require can be anyrhing she didn't support sufficiently when she submitted the I-751. This is dead serious, not responding by deadline leads to denial from USCIS.

I understand the severity of an RFE which is why I say “there’s no way of knowing (the deadline)” in my response to her.

I received an approval notice in the mail today with a notice date of 9/11/18. Nothing has changed online, though.

Congrats!

So no changes, huh. I have seen quite Did you sign up for USPS Informed Delivery? If you did, did you even get an email of the approval letter?

This is what I sent to them;

image.png.f12822391dd4e1dca648b48b4b3b185d.png

I've no idea what else could be needed. When we broke up I had to leave the house in a hurry and all of our bank statements and a lot of official documents were in there and he wouldn't allow me to have any of them and he wouldn't let me in the house to get the rest of my belongings.

I'm a little worried as I am now married again and pregnant and have bought a house and have started a business over here. I will be shattered if I get rejected.

I guess only time will tell....

He is also on tour. He won't be back until even later than me. I have people living there who can forward it to me though :)

I do have informed delivery, and I usually stalk it but this time I didn’t check until after I saw the letter in the mail (I did have an image of a letter from USCIS). Just didn’t expect anything since nothing changed online.

#10- various emails re bank transactions

#11 A statement

A statement as in one statement? You need statements for the entire marriage. Yes this will be a very big stack and they will go through it line by line so you can highlight transactions for joint benefits or individual benefits paid for by one or both parties income. Bank emails are worthless.

Im pretty sure you are getting a commingling finances RFE. And dec 2016 divorce- what about 2016 taxes? joint? separate? they still want them.(yours - if hes on it or not doesnt matter)

I'm having a hard time too. I can tell you this tho, at least you have WAYYYY more evidences than I do. I am still married to my husband but I travel ALOT for work and he doesn't have a job. Haven't had one in 6 years. We have been bouncing back and forth his dad's, his grandparent's and never had a home of our own. I am the sole breadwinner of the family, and that's why I never had anything joined until beginning of this year. So I am scared too. We never went on a honeymoon or vacation because we could never afford to. It's tough trying to gather any evidence. Just hang in there, have faith and just give all that you can give.
