You answered your question, and yes you cannot ask why they sent you RFE. RFE is way better than interview since interview is more prone to mistakes.

I believe it was listed on the RFE all the USCIS were asking. Just provide all of those evidences and explain to them in writing just in case you don't have the evidences that they were asking, for them to know why you don't have it.

Good luck!

The RFE just lists the same thing that the i-751 document does, it does not specify any specific missing thing. (Same as the list on page 5 of i-751 instructions, "Evidence of the Relationship").

We already sent a bunch of stuff from this list, so its not clear what they thought was missing. Only things I can think of are updated financial records (taxes for 2016 and 2017 which weren't available when we filed, for example) and affidavits (which we didn't include since I had read they were not very useful, perhaps a mistake).

Yeah, we sent all the tax returns that existed at the time, but thanks to the delay there are more now....  might as well send them too. Since we already sent a couple years worth I doubt it will make much difference, but who knows.

Hopefully affidavits will help.

Any more good news from May 2017 filers?

I am VSC filer. May 8, 2017.I got a RFE on August 3. I filed with multiground waivers: divorce and extreme cruelty. I do not write much on this thread because there are other threads for my case.

Anyway, the RFE was for a more detailed affidavit of the abuse case. Which I already submmited and got confirmation yesterday that it was received by USCIS. Hope they waibe tbe interview...if not, I will attend interview and that will be it.

After almost 16 month my wife finally got a approval notice last week and yesterday USCIS mailed her card should get it within this or next week. This forum has been great source of info. Won't be doing her N-400 until next year as we will be traveling a lot outside of the country and we don't want to miss her interview date. Everyone hang in there, May CSC filers are coming through.

congrats to all May filers that are now getting approved! I’m waiting and it’s been so frustrating :(

I just got off the phone with a tier 2 Officer. He told me all I-751 applications require an interview now. This is clearly wrong and I did tell him that it’s not the case. But he insisted it’s a recent change. But anyway, hoping for an approval soon so I can update my global entry and not have to take forever when I go through customs...

After one year and 20 days of my GC expirey date, and after my case is transferred to an office which is located in far away and different state, I got an updated notification about my GC. Card is being produced. Phewwwww finally. (With no interview).

I hope you all get your cards ASAP. Hang on. Now the waiting journey of N400.

Good luck everyone and thanks for this amazing forum.

Love and peace.
