Hey All,

I've been mostly observer here and highly appreciate everyone who has shared information so far.

Today, I received acceptance letter  and wanted to share more info with the group:

- CSC filler

- my status never got updated  neither on website or app

- Submitted request on 5/8/2017

- application number WAC17223...

- Didn't file N-400

Cheers!

Congratulations......

Hi,

i havent been very active here but wanted to give an update on my case. I filed for the removal of my conditions early May 2017. My case hasn’t updated since biometrics. However in May 2018 I filed my N400 and I had my interview yesterday and I passed. They said they will close out my I-751 first in the next 2 days and then approve my citizenship. Now I just have to wait on my oath ceremony.

Good luck everyone! Also my suggestion is to go and file your N400 as this is mainly dependent on local USCIS office leadtime not the central offices. Which in my case was a lot quicker.

Congratulations......

After one year and 20 days of my GC expirey date, and after my case is transferred to an office which is located in far away and different state, I got an updated notification about my GC. Card is being produced. Phewwwww finally. (With no interview).

I hope you all get your cards ASAP. Hang on. Now the waiting journey of N400.

Good luck everyone and thanks for this amazing forum.

Love and peace.

Congratulations @blackknight1609 , it certainly is time to celebrate. What is your NOA1 date ? Did your case get transferred to NSC/VSC or TSC ?

Thank you @xilef. The NOA1 was May 31, 2017. And yes it was transferred to Texas Office.

I am in the same boat. From what I've read, it looks like USCIS will be doing a combined interview for those who have filed N400 while i-751 is still pending.

Congrats!

Wait. You filed your N400 in July 2018 and your 10-yr GC (i-751) was approved today? Did I read that right?

yes, I applied for N400 in July 2018. The expected time to complete the N400 application is 21 months. So I have another long journey to go.

Well I have seen so many cases here, they got approved without having interview. Even though they applied n400. But they got i751 approved first. We just have to wait n see.

I've been told by many members here that once you filed N400 and your I-751 is still pending, USCIS is going to do a combo interview. I guess your approval proves that assumption is just that, assumption.

So there is hope that USCIS might approve ours (I-751) despite the fact that our N400 is still pending. :)

The very same people that have file their N400 while their I-751 was still pending? Or ones that have NOT filed their N400?

Every case is different. Everything happen to people on this forum is individual case related. This forum is good to see a general trend and learning from similar experiences. Buy each case is unique.

In general, if you sent enough supporting documents with your I-751, you won’t be called for an interview. (In general). Some people might say this is not true, because they have been requested to attend an interview. Well, it depends on the case, the supporting documents, red flags, the USCIS and even the officer who is taking those decisions.

When I had my passport stamp, they told me that N-400 has nothing to do with I-751. Because as long as you are getting extensions, then you are still legally resident and you are able to apply for naturalization.

Some offices do combo interviews, but as I read in USCIS policies, it is up to the office supervisor and the one who is taking a decision. If your I-751 and N400 are processed in the same office and there is no red flags and they have complete applications with enough supporting docs, you are most likey going to get combo interview. However, it is up to the officer reviewing the case, they might call you for I-751 to make sure everything is right and ligit and then scheduel another one for N400. Some offices are swamped with applications, they even take ages to do the interview (for both applications) like Minneapolis office for example.

What you see again here is a general trend, based on so many applications and experiences. There is no 100% correct or sure assumptions.

Keep the faith and patience. You will get it and be done with the whole long story.

Good luck
