Question for the group: If your I-751 is still in CSC (and has not been transferred to another service center) and you have already file N-400 while the I-751 is still pending, does it mean that USCIS will possibly send both your I-751 and N-400 to your local USCIS office for a combined interview? Or are they going to adjudicate the I-751 now, followed by an N-400 interview?

We fit this scenario.  My understanding, based on researching the experiences of other people on VJ, is that they will combine his I-751 and N-400 and do a combo interview at our local office.  Because citizenship for him is the desired outcome, waiting to file until after his 10-year green card was approved would only prolong the timeline.  We have a minor who's affected, and we felt that the sooner, the better.  Now that we have the 18-month extension letter, my worries are zero.

Does anyone know what a letter like could be? Is there a difference between any of them?

I was transferred to TSC on July 25, so I am kinda hoping this is the actual GC. My USCIS account does not show any movement though.

Extension letter then?

It's gonna be a long day...

This is exactly what our extension letter envelope looked like.  Sorry.  😕  But maybe it's different, and that'd be nice!

Hi everyone,

I just received a notification saying that my new card is being produced. I am still having a hard time to believe it...

Like I said earlier, a letter is waiting for me in my mailbox, but people said it looks like an extension letter, so I'm not sure.

I'm a May 2017 CSC filer, case got transferred to TSC on July 20. I'm going to apply to citizenship after I receive the physical card.

Approvals for CSC filers are definitely coming guys!

Good luck to everyone, and thanks for the priceless support.

Hey guys, received a letter today (finally some movement!) says my case has been transferred so they can schedule me for an interview.. is this default language or has anybody else who got there case transferred also have the interview mentioned?  Anyone got this notice and received a green card without the interview?

From what I've seen, most of the applicants on here have gotten their approval without an interview, but I wouldn't worry if I were you...

The interview probably has to do with the office transfer & how they deal with their cases over there.

This is just my take on this, though.

Yea I was thinking on the same lines, I have applied from my N400 as well, so I think it might be a combined interview.. but I think that’s how they deal with case transfers.. hoping it’s nice and smooth till the final interview

Well, this makes even more sense now- when you apply for both the I-751 and N-400, they seem to deal with both cases at once and hence you have a combined interview. So it makes sense that you had a transfer and will be scheduled an interview, probably at the closest office to your residence.

Has anyone here not received their 18-month extension letter yet?? I've been checking the June '17 filers thread and a lot of the applicants over there have already gotten theirs. I still haven't gotten mine in the mail yet =/ I called up USCIS earlier today to make sure they have my correct mailing address- they do. I was advised to just go get an extension in my passport (which is something I should've done a long time ago, I know!).

Congratulations!!  Did you open the letter?  It may still be the 18-mo extension letter.  A LOT of people are getting them after they get their green cards in hand.  I'm excited for you!!

Yes, a combined interview.  I wonder if it sped up your N-400 process?  When did you apply for citizenship?
