Hi - so I got an email saying my status had changed. I looked online and saw the "mail being produced" update.  Then the next day I got another email saying my status had changed!  I looked again and I got the approval status.  A  bit back to front!  Then I got my approval letter in the mail on Friday, June 29.  Now I have a notification that my card is at the post office....but it's being held.  I have no idea why. So frustrating!

Call USCIS and verify why it's being held

Hey everyone it’s been a while, got a RFE in the mail 2 weeks back and just sent the packet out today with more evidence. Hopefully that’s sufficient now for their liking. Should reach them on Thursday and hopefully I can hear back from them next week or so

@CharlieBrown I sent in the regular documents like:

insurance cards

bank letters

bank statements

vacation itinerary

power of attorney

life insurance documents

401K documents

They said we needed more financial information that ties us together. So I sent copies of bank statements showing our pay being deposit into the same account and also tax transcripts and copy of our new lease and copy of bills we share

Did anyone on here file their I-751 with a dependent?   I just received my 10 Year Green called but my daughter didn't.  So I called USCIS and they said she doesn't get one!   She got her original CR1 green card, and extension but doesn't get a IR Green Card..... I am extremely concerned about how she travels back into the Country?  She also has to travel without me.

You should ask them that question on how she proves her permanent resident status.

I did.  They said "she gets it from you".  I said, I understand that but how does she prove it.  They told me they had answered my question and put the phone down!

You have similar situation like @Ksenia_O but not sure if she already got the approval of her I-751. @Ksenia_O?

Your girl goes through exactly the same process as you and she must receive her green card as well. With her A-# on it, with her name and so on... nothing about her on YOUR green card and seems like people on that "misinformation line don't get it!  Uhhh, makes me so upset when something like that comes up, over and over!! I'm so sorry you are experiencing this....

Call again  and try to get on hold a Tier 2 Immigration Officer - they usually know more than a person who picks up the phone first. Those are contractors and usually know nothing... like literally NOTHING! People have been told all kind of non senses, and in most cases they just read the info from the same screen as you do.. Or just misinform you, like now...

Seems like the only thing they are good at -  to do everything possible to not transfer your phone call to a "higher level' IO.  So, call again and do your best to get  a Tier 2 IO - they have an access to your file, to the whole thing.

If no luck, then make an Infopass and go to your local USCIS Office to see an IO. Take your girl with you, and her paperwork - Ext. Letter, Biometric appointment, any ID, passport...

And of course, do not leave the country until your daughter's green card received OR - if trip is around the comer, get I-551 stamp in her passport. Make a copy of her expired green card - in case if they will stamp her passport, green card can be taken by USCIS in exchange for the stamp....

...still can not believe you were told that nonsense....:(

I'm pretty sure your girl's green card is on its way.   Since a child is a derivative applicant and depends completely on you, so  sometimes green cards are issued in different time for a parent and for a child...Child's AFTER parent's approval.

Good luck to you and will keep you in prayers!!!

Please, let us know how your conversation with a Tier 2 IO or Info pass go, ok?...

THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  I am so mad at the agent I spoke to.  He was a Tier 2!   She travels at the end of the month so I will def take her to Info Pass and her extension expires 5 days AFTER she returns to the US so she is valid for entry BUT I hate her not having her GC.  And to keep having to deal with USCIS.   Fingers cross hers just comes but I've had no notice about hers.  I will let you know how we make out.  I have called USCIS again and am waiting for a call back from another Tier 2 agent....

Definitely, get the appointment and have her passport stamped before she travels...even though her extension letter would still be valid when she returns. You never know with those immigration officers at the ports of entry.

You are very welcome!!

The way things have recently been with USCIS (a massive launch of green cards with wrong dates of residency of them, biometric appointments scheduled to"out-of State locations ) I'm not surprised that now and Tier 2 doesn't help much.... Unspeakable incompetency  :(

Hopefully, another Tier 2 will be more knowledgeable and helpful.

May I ask you?... I see you've applied for N-400... Did you submit the application AFTER I-751 approval?.. I'm already eligible to file, but since my son is on my I-751  - i'm not really sure if I should go ahead and apply or wait it out...
