Ugh! Still pending from Vermont (22May filer). Checked all EAC17235 files and the ones above and below mine have already gotten their GC.

As I wait for my ROC, any pros and cons on filing the N400 now vs waiting to file after I get my 10 year GC. I saw most people went ahead and put in their N400 while their 751 was pending, but some people decided to wait. Just wondering what the pitfalls may be if I file it now...

Hey everyone, May 2017 VSC filer here. I am still waiting for my approval and we have moved states, so I need to update my expiring out of state Drivers Licence. I kept putting it off thinking I was going to receive my card soon, but as it hasn't happened yet I decided this morning to make an info pass appointment to get my stamp. I went in this morning (I'm lucky as almost every time slot is open for an info-pass at my local in Buffalo) and got the 1 year extension stamp. Yes they did take my green card too. They told me not to worry, nothing is wrong with my case, 14-16 months will be my likely wait time. He said 80% are currently being processed in that period with 10% earlier and 10% later than 16 months in VSC. I asked about "received at local office" and he said no it is not here, it is in VSC and will only come to Buffalo should an interview be required. It made me feel better about the whole thing and relax not worrying about my DL expiring next month. Fingers crossed I don't have too long to go now!

Thanks for sharing! That's much more information given to you compared to the agent I had in Newark during my 551 appointment. Hoping for something soon!

NJ is where we moved from, so I understand your experience with the blank robot staff! I guess there is not much going on in Buffalo so they are happy to help happy to be there staff. He was joking with me that now I have my stamp in my passport, I don't need to worry about keeping a passport, green card AND extension letter safe. Passport is all I need for now ! I also changed my license today and to my surprise I was issued a 4 year license rather than NJ that went off my immigration. Hopefully we'll hear by August then!

Received a letter from the local USCIS office that they will be doing a combo I751 / N400 interview on 7/17. Said to ensure spouse comes along.

Happy we are nearly done.  Moving 20 miles south to North Kentucky in August and didn't want to get transferred to the Louisville office.

I don't see any cons on filing the N400 while your i-751 is pending. The worst case scenario is that you'll get a combined interview for both i-751 and N400, so if your local USCIS office is backed up like ours in Houston, which is a 20 to 23-month wait, then you would wait longer for your approved 10-yr GC.

When did you file your 751 (month and year) and when did you file your N400?

Hi - so I got an email saying my status had changed. I looked online and saw the "mail being produced" update.  Then the next day I got another email saying my status had changed!  I looked again and I got the approval status.  A  bit back to front!  Then I got my approval letter in the mail on Friday, June 29.  Now I have a notification that my card is at the post office....but it's being held.  I have no idea why. So frustrating!
