Our I-129F was approved 3/31/2017.  After the NVC, (603) 334-0888, told me today, May 1, 2017, that they still had not received our I-129F application from the USCIS, I just called the USCIS at 800-375-5283.  The agent told me that my application has not even been sent yet to the NVC (after 4 weeks).  He assured me that our application was approved, but said it can take 90 days after approval of the I-129F for it to be mailed from the USCIS to the NVC.  He said the only thing that I could do was call the NVC if I have not received anything from the NVC within 90 days.

I am a little surprised that even the US government would take 3 months to spend 5 seconds putting a stamp on an envelope, but the agent said there was nothing I could do but wait.

Is this correct?

Yes it's true. It's a little ridiculous, you can actually request a higher up person. Tier 2 and try asking them. Sometimes that does help some people.

Thanks for the suggestion.  I'll call and ask to speak with a 2nd tier at both the uscis and nvc in a few days.

I also just called my US Representative and was told to go to his office on Wednesday to sign a release of information for him to start an inquiry.

(this forum says people are getting nvc processing in 1-2 weeks, the uscis notice says 30 days, the nvc says 6 weeks, the uscis agent by telephone says upto 90 days - just to lick a stamp.)

I'm not justifying the extended timeline, but there's more to finalizing and shipping it than just putting a stamp on it and sticking it in the mail.
