Hello all, question regarding AOS....

We have a problem with getting IRS transcript as husband has worked overseas last year and the filing address kept changing. He tried calling  the CS and the helpline but they are all automated and he got a transcript sent without an option to provide new address.

Last address he has in the system was a PO box from his company which he does not have access to. I know we have the option of speaking to the company asking them to forward it but we would like to secure this.

Does anyone know what is the best number we can call, another VJ member told me they got it sent to Singapore for free speaking to someone but they forgot which number.

And i most definitely dont want to go through the below but it will be our last resort...:6 weeks + 10 days i dont know if we can afford to wait that long... (My PD Feb 21 Texas still waiting for NOA2 but i think it's this month)

Q20. What if my address changed since I filed my last tax return and it doesn’t match IRS records when I use Get Transcript by Mail or the automated phone transcript service at 800-908-9946?

Don’t use your old address. The transcript won’t get forwarded to you. You need to file Form 8822, Change of Address, before you submit Form 4506-T or Form 4506T-EZ. Generally, it takes four to six weeks to process a change of address.

If getting a transcript is going to be too much of a hassle, you can always submit a copy of the most recent tax return you filed, along with schedules, etc.

A VJ member said they received a checklist / W-2 got rejected because NVC needs to see the transcript.

I would like to go for the risk free option.

That's interesting that it was rejected. I'm curious if the other VJ members spouse worked overseas as well and that's why they were sent a checklist? Or maybe if the CEAC system is different in how they view these and not receiving the horrible checklists and wait times that others get. I know they view each situation differently, however, I submitted by AOS documents in the morning, and by the afternoon it was approved on the CEAC system. I only had the required 2016 tax return (and W2), the past 3 W-2s as optional uploads, the past 6 months of paycheck stubs, drivers license and passport bio page. I didn't even submit the past 'optional' tax returns for the previous years that they suggest on the I-864. Though I work within the US and not overseas. Another thing that I've heard is some people got a letter from the employer verifying the start dates of employment and that they are currently working there. From what I've read it seems that the tax return would work, but I know the feeling to be prepared just in case!

I read here on VJ that a member submitted their W2 via electronic processing (email) and was rejected because the person couldn't read what was scanned.

This could be a reason why it was rejected. If not, their W2 has some issues and they want to see the transcript for better clarifications.

My husband had filed his taxes late and the transcripts were not available when we were uploading to NVC.  We uploaded copies of the tax forms instead and they were accepted without issue.  Note that we completed the taxes on the computer (using Acrobat Reader) and uploaded the documents to NVC directly from the computer file, so there should not have been any issue with legibility.

Some good news for those of us who have been waiting for interview dates in Montreal!

My "Case Complete" date was June 22, 2017.  I saw today that my status had changed from "At NVC" to "In Transit" so I called NVC... interview is scheduled for September 14th!

Good luck to everyone who is still waiting.

Thank you for posting an immediate update. After seeing your message I checked the website. My status has also changed to at "Montreal". I called NVC and my interview is scheduled for September 5th (case complete was July 18 - needless to say, first come first serve is not being followed). Good luck to everyone still waiting!

Did you do yours all through the CEAC system including your financial and civil documents? We're waiting on Montreal too but our case was just completed on 8/1

Yes, mine was completed 100% through CEAC.  All of my documents were accepted within 24 hours of upload -- no checklist.

Very cool. I like this system! I'm hoping I get an interview date soon but I guess we'll just have to wait and see. Probably a bunch in front of me.

Sorry if this has been discussed before or if it in the wrong forum.

Do both the Montreal and Vaughn medical exam locations offer results via mail?  Are there differences in costs, processing times, etc., between the two locations?

Thank you!

Just got interview email!!! Our interview is scheduled for September 8th, 8:00am at the consulate in Montreal.

Our medical exam expires on August 31st 😒.

Any advise on Medisys, how much earlier do we need to do the medical before the interview. And any advice on the interview itself? How long after the approval can my husband come to the United States? And what's this business about courier all about? Cat_Dad? Finayyy? Any advice? ❤️❤️❤️

When did you get the medical done, I thought they didn't expire for 6 months? Since I won't be able to make my interview date (September 5), I will most likely be going for a rescheduled interview in late September/early October. So I am wondering if its okay to get the medical done now. Thanks
