I find it very hard to accept that you can threaten someone (ie the USA threatening Iran, or any other axis of evil country) and expect it to comply when it is faced with a "I'm threatening you with a loaded gun but you can only have a water pistol" mentality

Last time I checked the US hadn't vowed to destroy an entire race of people.

I'm perfectly awake and also able to see what has happened in the last few years ( lets start with a totally unjustified war in Iraq without a plan!) I merely stated that I don't find it unreasonable that someone threatened by a nuclear power might feel somewhat justified in wanting a nuclear weapon of their own - I am not saying that either side should have them or either party is capable of using them merely as a deterrent just pointing out what to me seems an illogical argument - no more no less.
