Hi there,

just to give you an update. I had cc on April 20. NVC scheduled my interview on may 5th but got cancelled on may 11th due to system error. Nothing wrong with the case. They scheduled it again on May15 and the interview date was the same date as before, there was no changes. So my suggestion would be to wait before any cancellation. You may get the same interview date.

thanks for letting me know. Yes, fingers crossed that we get the same date . we had cc on April 19th. Strange, even our interview was scheduled on May 5th... there must have been quite of few glitches that day. Anyway, according to the NVC, they cancelled on 17th May, even though the same day we received an email of our appointment letter.

the calling continues...

Hi everyone, I hope everyone is having good news coming for them and good luck to those going for their interviews. So I have a question, where do I pay for my wife's green card fee? We did not get any info at the embassy and I believe we need to pay before we enter the US. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

It's super easy! After the embassy issues the visa, you wi have an "A" number.

Example A1234567. You will need that plus ur case number you used to track your case thru NVC.

Follow the directions  VERY carefully when entering your "A" number.   Takes about 5 minutes max to complete.

@SteveOlga Congratulations to you and your wife.

It took 2 months from my CC to get scheduled. Some embassies/consulates schedule faster than others. Hold tight, I'm sure you will be scheduled so soon. :)

Thank you, and good luck to you, I know you have had a long process!

Perfect! Thank you. For some reason I could not find the link.  She will have her paperwork Either Monday or Tuesday. Approximately 5 working days after interview if people are wondering for Kiev. :)

Ahmed picked up his medical today. They gave him a personal copy of his vaccinations for him to keep for the future. He asked the physician about his results and she told him everything came out good.

Yes. I had selected 'Yes' in DS-260 Online Immigrant Visa and Alien registration form for the questions 'Do you want the Social Security Adminstration to issue a Social Security number and a card' and 'Do you authorize disclosure of information from this form to the Department of Homeland Security, the Social Security Administration and such other U.S. Government agencies as may be required for the purpose of assigning you SSN and issuing you a Social Security card ...,'

It depends entirely on the embassy. Some folks wait a few days. Some a few weeks. Then there is unfortunate cases where folks can wait months. Again, it depends entirely on the embassy.

I'm sitting at 12 days.

Is there a specific period in which NVC normally schedules most visa interviews (e.g. towards the beginning and ending of each month?).

On 5/23/2017 at 8:29 PM, mmadd636 said:

From what I am seeing and hearing being on this site and calling them so many times, it seems that its a 2 week window between the ending of each month and the beginning 8-12 days of the following month.

Hello. Thank you for sharing. I was worried of the hotels. Do you recommend any or know of any good ones? not to expensive. Thank you for your time

On 5/23/2017 at 10:43 PM, Jannette23 said:

@aelizo38 you can read the embassy reviews somewhere over here, I've read they do not recommend the ibis hotel, but the consulate has many options at the surrounding area, there's a city junior express I know that's a good one and it's cheap, the Maria Bonita hotel is close to the consulate too and it offers free rides to the medical exams and the interview, let me do some research for you and I'll let you know.

Received a checklist regarding my AOS to make some correction and for my wife to take to the interview . They said on the letter that I didn't meet the minimum required income to sponsor the applicants which is confusing cuz my income is above the poverty guideline . If anyone has an answer pls don't hesitate

On 5/24/2017 at 5:47 PM, ain said:

You need to make 125% or above of the poverty guideline for the sponsor's household size, family size including yourself and your dependents (spouse). If it's only your spouse and yourself, you need to make above $20,300.

Yea that's what I did . My income was 23900 $ but cuz I have a daughter (us citizen ) I didn't know I have to include her in the AOS as well so they required 25000

On 5/24/2017 at 6:06 PM, ain said:

You should include any assets, savings you have with the value of $8,125 (1,625 x 5) car?

Example of How to Use Assets: If you are petitioning for a parent and the poverty line for your household size is $22,062 and your current income is $18,062, the difference between your current income and the poverty line is $4,000. In order for assets to help you qualify, the combination of your assets, plus the assets of any household member who is signing Form I-864A, plus any available assets of the sponsored immigrant, would have to equal ve times this difference (5 x $4,000). In this case, you would meet the income requirements if the net value of the assets equaled at least $20,000.

Just called NVC and was told that they have not started scheduling July interviews yet. The rep. told me NVC will start scheduling interviews in the first week of June, because that's when all the embassies send out their schedules to NVC. I guess we all have to wait at least one more week until we start getting our interview dates :)

I am not the right person or rather have expertise to comment on how our cases are different. Its their regular answer if you quote the reference for any other case they would say each case is different. The only difference i see is yours is IR1 mine is CR1 and that hardly matters.

if i was in your place i wouldn't have worried too much about the cc notification. Once you get the interview letter you are sorted. So i would suggest wait for few more days as i can see people have received notifications after a week as well. dont get disheartened, we all are almost there. and do keep us updated about your interview schedule. We called NVC in the morning, the rep said it usually takes a week or two for the interview to be scheduled for India, so we are getting there soon.
