Hi everyone,  I have been off the thread  for a bit. Preparing for the wife's interview which was this morning, May 23. We arrived at 8 for her 8:30 interview. If was a little difficult at first because of the line at the door and all the people standing there,  but I managed to get around all the Ukrainian waiting to get in shower my US passport and  my wife's interview letter and time and we went straight in from there through security.  We got our number and sat down and waited yo be called tothe first window. Our number was called, we went up and an older Ukrainian lady very methodically went through the folder that was sent to the embassy, then asked for some original documents; marriage, police, and birth certificate for my wife.  Then gave them evidence of relationship,and my wife gave her finger prints. Woman stamped a few things, then told us to sit back down and wait for our number again. Which for some reason did not go in order, because number 801 was called then 805, which was ours.  We went up, my wife read the oath to tell the truth, then a very nice and professional man asked my wife if she wanted to speak in Russian or English. My wife speaks good English but was nervous and decided for Russian. No problems there. We were asked a few standard questions,  how did you meet, where did you meet, asked me a few questions, and about 10 minutes later we were approved. We should receive our paperwork in 5 days.

     Even though we were nervous it really was easy...I will say that one woman who was being interviewed by another woman was getting the third degree...that was for a fiancee visa so maybe more scrutiny.

   So we leave June 9th to arrive in Boston for my wife's P.O.E. so we are very relieved and excited.

Best of luck to all of you waiting for your interviews. All will be well....

Turns out there are still interview appointments being cancelled due to a 'system error'.  It happened to a fellow Australian yesterday and their interview was the same day as mine (June 6).  Slightly worried but I haven't heard from the NVC.  My status on CEAC now says READY, so do you think I am safe??  Has anyone else received a cancellation email this week?

If your CEAC case status says "Ready", that means your case has reached your designated Embassy/Consulate. I would say you are in the clear.

I would call Embassy/Consulate and confirm just to be on the safe side.

 Thank you and congratulations to you too. It really was easy, I was ready for but was surprised that they did not ask for this year's tax returns.  Whole thing turned out no problem. Very fast and efficient. I think it was 45 minutes from walking on to walking out for us.

Visa status changed first to "Administrative processing" and then to "Issued" within the same day (today). The embassy also gave me a phonecall to let me know that I could pick up my documentation. I think we dont have as many applications here as other embassies/countries so things are a bit more direct in terms of communication and assistance. So happy this is almost over.

@penelope_Cy Congratulations!!! :dance:

I called my embassy in regards to a question I have and they wanted my case number or husbands passport information. I did not provide that information because i don't understand why they would need it for a general question.

20 hours ago, N&DSanow said:

I had a similar issue, when my case wasnt scheduled for an interview yet, the embassy wouldn't answer any questions. I think it's just their way of not wasting time answering a million questions from people who would rather phone than just look at their website. Means people who have specific and legitimate questions have to jump through more hoops but saves them time processing.

Every Embassy is different in regards to how the treat people and process information. Cairo is absolutely slow and unprofessional. I dread any time having to ask them a question, as they treat you as if you are bothering them. They won't speak on the phone to answer any questions related to IR-1/CR-1 Visa questions, they tell you to email them, but they do not even respond with a real answer; it's just a generic answer they use for all incoming emails.

It took 2 months from my CC to get scheduled. Some embassies/consulates schedule faster than others. Hold tight, I'm sure you will be scheduled so soon. :)

Everything is going okay, thank you so much for asking. :) We've prepared everything (all documents are organized and ready for the interview), Ahmed will pick up his medical results this Thursday, and then we're just waiting for the interview on June-15. Now I feel anxious for it to come and restless.

I just hope he gets approved and his visa issued quickly. :innocent:
