Case Complete to Interview June 2017

Ahmed had his medical today. Went really smooth and easy. Super excited that we're almost to an end of this journey.

One question.  We got scheduled the interview on May-5 for June-15. Since May-6 it's said on CEAC 'In Transit', until now it has not changed. Is this normal, should it have changed by now? Should I contact the US Embassy in Cairo? I contacted NVC two days ago and they said that it's no longer with them and that sometimes it can get delayed by customs... I just know the reputation of calling the Embassy in Cairo too much and really do not want to if we do not have to.

Any thoughts?

Dear @Ahmed & Amy I don't remember the timeframe for the "In transit" but I have the following timeframes:

P4 letter received: 04/14

Contact with NVC and confirmation that they dispatched the package to the embassy: 04/18 (dispatch date 04/18)

Embassy in Cyprus confirmed receipt of the package: 04/26

Hope it helps...

Does anyone know how long it takes to get the interview appointment letter in the email?

Our interview date was scheduled on May 5th for June 6th and still haven't heard anything so it's been more than a week now.

We are getting worried because we can't schedule the medical without the appointment letter.

We called NVC multiple times and they mentioned that they have notified the supervisor but still no progress.

Anyone in a similar situation?

Has your status on CEAC changed to in transit? Mine still says at NVC but I'm not sure how quickly they send everything to the consulate once they've booked the interview.

I'm in the same boat. I called and they told me that my interview was scheduled and that I could expect the actual snail mail package in about a week or a week and a half.  It's been a week after a half and no email, not snail mail, and it still says "at nvc". Hm.

Thanks. We still have not received any notification from the Embassy here in Cairo telling us that they have received his documents from NVC. So I will call the Embassy tomorrow just to be sure.

No, mine still shows as "at NVC". I'm assuming they should send it soon. I know that you can call them to confirm the date the p4 documents were sent to the embassy.

Also, thanks for the update with Sonic Plus! We booked our appointment and you were right, they didn't require the appointment letter. Strangely or maybe just a coincidence, after I posted the issue about the interview appointment letter, got the email around 5pm yesterday. (what a relief!)

Hey guys, just an update that the interview is rescheduled again on the May 15, after cancelling it on may 11th due to an error on NVC part. They rescheduled it to June 13 at 9am. Same time and date as earlier!!! I wonder what was the reason for cancellation initially!! My case shows "in transit" to embassy!! Montreal,Canada.

Please also note that I had callwd the embassy on 04/25 and they hadn't rexeiced anything nor could they telll me at that point their ETA based on the NVC dispatch date however the documents were received the next day. The embassy was nice enough to actually give me a call to let me know they arrived (I needed to change my interview date...)

Firstly congratulations to everyone who got their interviews and/or got their visas approved!

I'm happy to report I AM IN THE USA!!  I arrived on monday afternoon, and had what is probably not the standard processing.  I got gastro about an hour into my 12.5hr flight, while travelling with my baby girl, and by the time we landed in LAX I was too weak to even walk on  my own let alone carry my luggage and daughter.  They fetched a wheelchair for me and I was taken through the airport, baggage, and immigration in a wheelchair, and with airport helpers carrying my bags.
When I got up to the immigration window he only asked for mine and my daughters passports (my baby is a USC), which I handed over and stated that my husband is already here as of a week ago.  A short while later asked me to verify my right hand fingerprints, and after about 5 mins of typing he handed my passport back saying "ok all done".  I'm pretty sure that's not how it usually goes. No questions at all.

Then it was onto my connecting flight to my final destination.  I was pretty weak, thirsty and out of it... its a bit of a blur, but the main thing is WE MADE IT!!  And as of today I finally feel "normal" and am able to feel that sense of relief that the process is over!

Got married: 26th Sep 2013

I-130 Petition Process:

Sent petition to USCIS Chicago lockbox (via in-laws to put check in US$): 11 Mar, 2016

NOA1: 24 Mar, 2016 (email notification 30 Mar. Hardcopy 11 Apr)

Service Centre: NEBRASKA

NOA2: 3rd Aug 2016

Petition sent to NVC: 18th Aug 2016

NVC Stage

Case number assigned: 8th Sep 2016

Paid AOS Fee: 9th Sep 2016

Paid IV Fee: 14th Sep 2016

DS-260 submitted: 25th Jan 2017

AOS & IV Package sent: 25th Jan 2017

Expedite requested: 25th Jan 2017

Expedite approved (consulate only): 1st Feb 2017

Scan Date: 31st Jan 2017

Case Complete: 14th April 2017 (10 weeks 4 days)

Full expedite approved (bypass NVC to send file to embassy), however too late as I already had case complete 17th Apr 2017

Case arrived at Embassy: 21st April 2017

P4 letter received: 26th April 2017 (expedite at embassy stage so this came from the consulate, not NVC)

Medical date: 26th April 2017

Interview date: 4th May 2017 APPROVED!!

Visa received: 8th May 2017

POE (entered the USA): 15th May 2017

Did they actually ask to see any more evidence when you were at the interview?  The Australian consulate doesn't request that you bring evidence but I have copies of what I used for the I-130 and put a stack of cards and photos in an envelope just in case.
