The paperwork she picked up were forms (2 of them).  One with information about my husband and one giving her permission to get the certificate.  I will ask my husband tonight where she got the forms.  He had to sign both forms.  I also signed one as a witness, but we did not need it notarized (according to my husband - I do not speak/read Spanish).  I will get all the information I can tonight and let you know.

In the letter they are asking us for the "State Police Certificate". I have called the state police of my husband's home state (Oaxaca). The instructions they gave me are:

1. Go to Mexican Embassy near us (Philadelphia) and ask for them to take his fingerprints which they will return to him in a sealed envelope.

2. Send the sealed envelope along with 6 pictures , copy of passport and notarized letter giving permission to the person who will pick up the report in Mexico.(also proof of adress of where he lived at in Mexico)

So I am guessing it depends on what type of report they are asking for which are municipal, state or federal. It may also depend on the state the person is from.

Let me know if you find out anything else...thanks!!

Has anyone had to send additional documents after receiving a checklist? How long did it take NVC to review after the second scan date?

The clock starts all over again from the day they acknowledge they received them. So about the same time it took to review your original documents.

Still no luck with an interview. I asked if they're still scheduling for australia and he said he hasn't been told they've stopped. I'll call back before they close and check again. Starting to think it won't be happening in June 😤.

We received a checklist from NVC in January 2017 for my wife's birth certificate and divorce decree.  Our attorney (whom I do NOT recommend) called NVC and challenged it since she had supposedly already sent the items......We finally received the official "You are in the queue for an interview" email about 11 weeks later.

I hope you have a shorter wait.

Okay.  According to my husband, my sister-in-law obtained the forms online.  I emailed them back to her after my husband signed them and she then mailed them to the state police (who/where? - I have no idea)  Just within the last day or two she received the certificate and she will send it to us via UPS.  I just hope it's the correct certificate, this seemed almost too easy considering all the other hoops we've had to jump through.   Took less than 2 weeks to get all of this done.  No fingerprints or notarization needed on our side, but they did need his signatures on the forms and he had submit copies of his passport, Mexican ID and a passport photo.  That was it.  I'll rest easier when we have the certificate in hand!  We had to deal with the state of Guanajuato.  Good luck and keep me posted!
