Ahmed picked up his medical today. They gave him a personal copy of his vaccinations for him to keep for the future. He asked the physician about his results and she told him everything came out good.

So now we just wait until June-15. B-)

Outstanding!   Glad to see it's moving along!

Had interview today at Mumbai Consulate and both me and my daughter got the CR1/CR2 visa approval. Its such a relief. The interview lasted hardly five minutes but the wait was long - 2.5 hours after the documents were verified. Apparently people opting for local language as the language for interview are interviewed before those opting to be interview in English. I was asked about 4-5 questions while the consulate officer typed vigorously on her computer. My husband accompanied us to the consulate and the officer asked him to come and stand with us.  I wasn't asked to show any photos or any other document. The questions I was asked are:

1. How did you meet your husband?

2. When did you decide to get married?

3. How did the proposal happen?

4.What does he do for living in USA?

5. Are you working?

6. Does your husband's parents live in USA or in India?

I noticed that all other marriage based visa applicants came alone for the interview and were asked too many questions, photo proofs, documents etc. I feel that since my husband accompanied me to the interview, I was spared the hassle.

I carried a truck load of relationship evidence and I am glad I did not have to use any.

Good luck to every one out there waiting to be interviewed and united with their respective families. Visajourney has been a great resource to understand the entire process and to know beforehand about what to expect at various stages between filing the petition and interview.

Congratulation. Thanks for sharing ur experience.

I'm pretty sure that would open a can of worms for people using unreliable doctors and potentially having someone else do the tests for them if they didn't want something to show up.  There is a list on each countries pre-interview checklist who you can use.  It has to be them, they have all the necessary paperwork and can send the results directly to the Consulate.  I chose to collect mine, didn't want to take the chance of it going missing.

In my wife's case for the medical check in Kiev, they give the medical results the next day directly to the person and do not send them to the embassy,  so I guess that takes the chance of someone losing them out of the equation.  Only yourself...:)

My wife had her case completed May 23 and we're waiting to have the interview date scheduled. From what I've seen on the spreadsheets, etc, NVC isn't scheduling much right now?

Was anyone's interview date scheduled on May 17th and cancelled?

We were unfortunate enough find out this week that our interview was cancelled and in line to be rescheduled due to some system error! :crying:

The NVC said that there was no issues with our case, it is still case complete, but there was a booking error and had to be cancelled.

Our flights/hotels were booked for June 6th and medical examination done too! ughh... so disappointing.

Does anyone know what can be done in this situation?

We had the same problem last week. They rescheduled our interview couple days later for the same time and date. So I would just follow up with NVC in the next couple of days. Our interview is June 2nd and we received the email from NVC about the rescheduled interview on the 18th

Have you still not heard anything about a new date - or hopefully the same date they originally scheduled?

No, we keep calling everyday and all they say is we cannot give you a timeframe... even asked to speak to a supervisor but no luck. Same answer, "we are sorry for the inconvenience, there is nothing we can do. you just have to wait".

Hi there,

just to give you an update. I had cc on April 20. NVC scheduled my interview on may 5th but got cancelled on may 11th due to system error. Nothing wrong with the case. They scheduled it again on May15 and the interview date was the same date as before, there was no changes. So my suggestion would be to wait before any cancellation. You may get the same interview date.
