I just want to  know how many of you have gone through the process of renewing the card and how easy or difficult it was.

Or how many of you have an expired card and are just postponing until you have time and money to do so.

I have a few questions, it would be nice to learn about your experiences.

Why would you even want to renew a 10-year GC unless you're afraid you won't meet the criteria for some reason? It's like what, ~$200 more to apply for citizenship, and then you'll never have to renew ever again.

Apart from it costing a heck of a lot more, Renewing a 10 year green card should be no less complicated than renewing a driving license.

Doesn't it take ~6 months to renew, though?

My husband had a green card for 25 years before he became a citizen. He said it only ever took a month or two to renew his green card but who knows what the waiting times are these days (it took me 16 months to get my ROC approved). At least when your renewing a 10 year card its a form, a check and nothing more :-)

Lots have no desire to ever be citizens.  Personal reasons.

Fair enough, and I suppose I just remembered another perfectly valid reason — the country they came from doesn't recognize dual/multi citizenship.
